ATC Track Night #1

Big things often start with a small idea.

ATC TRACK CLUB // TRIAL NIGHT 🏃‍♂️

This Monday we’re trialling something new for members & non members.

A structured interval running session, done together as a group, for anyone who wants to improve their running.

Whether you’re working towards a 10K, half marathon or marathon, or simply want to become a better runner, the session is designed to meet you at your own pace.

The session is time-based rather than distance-based, which means everyone works for the same amount of time at their own individual pace.

As we move towards the darker months, getting those harder running sessions done on your own can become a bit more difficult. Doing them as a group makes it easier to show up, work a little harder and get the session done together.

The goal is simple, create an environment where people can push themselves, improve their running and still feel part of the group regardless of ability.

Everyone is welcome.

This is a trial night for us too. We’ll run it, learn from it, take some feedback and see how we can make it even better moving forward.

Athleticism shouldn’t have an expiry date.

A big part of our Tuesdays & Thursdays at ATC is making sure we’re not just focused on getting stronger or solely improving how we look aesthetically, but continuing to develop the qualities that keep us athletic.

That means keeping some form of jumping, landing, throwing or simply moving explosively within the programme.

We can scale it, load it and change the variation to suit the individual, but the principle stays the same:

Use it or lose it.

Sunday morning Yoga🧘‍♂️

Tomorrow at 9am we’ve got yoga with Ella Colgan .

A nice way to finish off the training week.

Training hard matters, but what you do between sessions plays a huge role in how well you recover and progress.

Everyone welcome 👌

We get to train. We don’t have to train.

At ATC, we talk a lot about appreciating what your body is capable of.

Training is hard. Some days your motivation is high, other days it isn’t, everyone is in the same boat.

At this time of year especially, routines can get broken, holidays creep in and it becomes a little easier to miss a session.

But every so often it’s worth sitting back and remembering the privilege in being able to train.

New week incoming and another opportunity to show up and make the most of what you can do.

The programme provides the structure, but the intensity you bring is what creates the change.

Weeks 1 and 2 are about building the foundation: refining the movements, finding the right loads and working through quality positions.

In Weeks 3 and 4, we begin to build. The volume increases, the loads progress and the intent behind every set needs to rise with it.

The work is laid out for you. How much you get from it comes down to what you bring.

Locked in.

Week 3 kicks off tomorrow for our members, along with the next two-week microcycle.

Monday is always the marker.

Set the tone, from day one then build the rest of the week from there.
