Today we held our Closing Day Competition, kindly sponsored by The Market Inn Hotel.

27 members split into 9 triples, took to the green and played a mini-american, followed by a buffet tea and the prize-giving for the competition, where all the triples got a prize, followed by music and singing provided by Laura Ferguson.

President James Thomson, thanked the Market Inn Hotel, for their generous and continued sponsorship, and thanked everyone that has helped out in any way, shape or form over the season, with special thanks to Secretary Helen Wemyss, Treasurer Ian McBride, Green Convenor Tommy Maxwell & Bar Convenor Stewart Gordon, for all the hard work they do in the background, in keeping everything at the club running smoothly over the whole season.

President James then presented the prizes, with the winning triple being Julie Murray , Davie Mcdowall & Helen Wemyss (skip).

A great day was had by all.

The club hopes that everyone winters well, and we'll look forward to seeing you all back in the Spring, ready and able for the 2007 season.

A great day for all involved. Thanks to all for taking part and to the ones that helped organise it.

What an absolutely brilliant day for the Neil Thomson memorial at Castle Douglas bowling club. All the Legion players were amazing and it ended with a result of 17 to 17. Singles game to decide winner with 1end then played with numbers drawn out of hat which was between Iain Cullen Jnr for bowling club and Jaeson McQuat for the legion, where we just came up short of the win. Massive thank you to everyone for attending to play and to CD Bowling club for hosting. We will be back next year to win it👍👍

🏆 What a weekend for CDBC! 🏆

This weekend we had a triple and two pairs representing the club in the Great British Bowls competitions, and what a weekend of bowls it was!

On Saturday, Gary, Scott and Alan narrowly missed out on qualifying for the semi-finals after a fantastic run in the triples.

Today, we had Billy & Stephen and Alan & Scott competing in the pairs. Billy and Stephen won their first three league games but, once again, narrowly missed out on qualification for the semi-finals.

Alan & Scott, however, were outstanding — winning all five of their league games to secure their place in the semi-finals. They then carried that form through the knockout stages and went on to win the competition!

A fantastic achievement for Alan & Scott, and a brilliant result for CDBC. Congratulations, lads!

We had both Fiona Whitby and David Green in the ladies and Gents county singles finals. Unfortunately both results didn’t go our way and Fiona lost 21-16 and David 21-17.

Hard lines to both, great effort!
