You have to see the 13th green to believe it - pictures hardly do it justice.

The front right quarter is the high tier and the toughest pin position, while the rest of the green slopes away into a lower bowl.

It's an exhilarating design unlike anything else we've encountered.

East Lochside Cottage, sitting to the left of the 1st green, is more than a reminder of our heritage as one of the world’s 20 oldest golf clubs. It also comes into play. The 1st may be a short par 4, but with out of bounds up the right, players often bail out left, only to find themselves stuck behind the cottage.

Details matter.

While half our course is played along the railway and in the dunes, looking back towards the 5th green you'll see the other characteristics that make our links so unique.

Pine trees lining the fairways, creating a heathland feel while the layout remains distinctly linksland with firm turf and pot bunkers as the main features.

On this day 73 years ago, the 'Wee Ice Mon' cemented his legacy with the help of time spent at our Club.
