What a fantastic morning we had at today’s Colour Run!

A massive well done to all 23 members of the Pro-Edge Carluke team who came along to take part. It was great to see so many of our members and their families getting involved, having fun and supporting one another throughout the event.

Congratulations to Guy Martin and David Ferguson, who were the first two across the finish line, and a special well done to Ruairi and Reggi, who were our youngest participants today! 👏

By the end, everyone had earned their medal and was covered head to toe in colour! 🌈🏅

Thank you to everyone who joined us today and to the organisers for putting on such a brilliant event. Days like these are a great reminder that Pro-Edge Carluke is about much more than just what happens on the mats.

We hope everyone had as much fun as we did!

Fast forward 18 months…

✅ Trains at every session available.
✅ Has completed 5 gradings.
✅ Competes regularly.
✅ Has won medals.
✅ Is one of the first to put his hand up to demonstrate in front of the whole class.

And it all started because a friend invited him to a 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗕𝘂𝗱𝗱𝘆 𝗡𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁.

When Finn first joined us at 9 years old, he wasn’t the most confident child. He gave Taekwon-Do a try but made it very clear…
“𝙄’𝙢 𝙣𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧 𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙬𝙞𝙘𝙚 𝙖 𝙬𝙚𝙚𝙠!”

His mum never imagined he’d stick with it.

Now she says:

He didn’t kick. He didn’t punch. He didn’t speak to us. He just sat at the side of the mat… and watched.

He was only 4 years old. Shy, anxious and reluctant to leave his parent.

Every week, we invited him to join us. We offered him equipment. We encouraged him. We celebrated the tiniest steps.

But he wasn’t ready.

𝗦𝗼 𝘄𝗲 𝗴𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗵𝗶𝗺 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲.

Then one day, something changed.

He walked into class… and instead of sitting at the side, he went straight over to his spot at the start of the class.

And he joined in. 🥋

Fast forward almost a year…

The little boy who once wouldn’t step onto the mat is now 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁, 𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗵𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝘁𝘁𝘆.

🥋 He’s completed 3 gradings.
🏅 He’s won 3 medals.
🌟 He’s made new friends.
💪 He’s grown in confidence, resilience and independence.
🔥 And right now, he’s preparing for his next grading.

But perhaps the biggest transformation of all?

𝗛𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗴𝗲𝘁𝘀 𝗲𝘅𝗰𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗷𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝗯𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴.

And his journey didn’t just inspire him…

𝗛𝗶𝘀 𝗺𝘂𝗺, 𝗱𝗮𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘂𝘀 𝘁𝗼𝗼

This is why Little Heroes is about so much more than learning to kick and punch.

We don’t expect every child to walk through our doors bursting with confidence.

Some are shy. Some are nervous. Some need a little encouragement. And some just need more time

Yesterday, we had an amazing time supporting the Carluke Charity FC “Big One Day Event” Family Fun Day, and we’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who stopped by our stall to say hello, ask questions and get involved!

It was fantastic to see so many children (and adults!) taking part in our board breaking demonstrations, pad work and patterns, with plenty of smiles, laughter and lots of future martial artists giving it a go! 🥋💥

We were also delighted to hand out lots of information about Pro-Edge Martial Arts – Carluke and chat to so many families about what we offer. We hope to welcome lots of new faces to the club soon!

The past two weekends have seen our students compete at both the TAS Scottish Open Championships in Grangemouth and the MightyFist Scottish Open Championships in Dundee, and we couldn’t be prouder of every single competitor who stepped onto the mats to represent Pro-Edge Carluke

Across both events, we saw students challenge themselves, demonstrate fantastic sportsmanship, build confidence and put into practice everything they have been working on in class.

We were particularly delighted to see several students achieve personal milestones, including first-time competitors stepping onto the mats, students winning their first medals and others competing in new events for the first time.

A huge thank you must go to David, our parents and families for their continued support. Competition days simply wouldn’t be possible without the encouragement, commitment and teamwork shown by everyone involved.
