Thank you to everyone who came to celebrate our 7th Birthday today with cake! 🎂 and new uniform 🩰 Back in tomorrow (Weds 2nd Sept) 10am-1pm if anyone else wants to pop in to say hi, eat cake, and/or get uniform too!

7 years of Cumbria Ballet School! 🥹 🥳

Rachel can’t quite believe how quickly the time has flown since the school first opened its doors and what an amazing 7 years it’s been…

There have been first ballet classes, exams, performances, new friendships, so many proud moments and lots of wonderful memories made inside the studio.

To every pupil who has danced with us, every parent who has supported us along the way and everyone who has been part of the school, past or present, thank you 🩵

We wouldn’t be where we are today without you all - we feel so lucky to have watched so many of you grow in confidence and develop your love of dance with us 🩰

Our Saturday Pre-School Ballet class (ages 3–4) is nearly full 🩰💖

A magical introduction to dance through music, imagination and storytelling - the perfect first step for your little one.

Who’s ready for a brand new term?

Classes start again on Monday 7th September and we can’t wait to see you all!

Rachel will be at the studio on the dates below for anyone who needs to pop in beforehand:

🩵 Tuesday 1st September 1pm-5pm
🩵 Wednesday 2nd September 10am-1pm
🩵 Saturday 5th September midday til 4pm

You can pick up uniform, get fitted for ballet shoes or ask any questions before your first class back – we want to help you feel organised so there’s no last minute panic when those ballet shoes don’t fit anymore 😂 DVDs and USBs from our summer show will also be available to collect.

And if you or your child are joining us for the first time, you’re very welcome to come along, see the studio and meet Rachel. It’s a chance to familiarise yourself with where we are, where to park and what to expect, so walking into that first class feels a little easier 🫶

Are you looking for something new that your little one will be excited to get up for on a weekend?

Our Pre-School Ballet sessions are a lovely first class for children who are always dancing at home or need a fun new activity to look forward to each week 🩰

This 30 minute session is just right for this age group and gives your little one enough time to learn, make friends and enjoy being part of the class without it feeling too long or overwhelming.

We’d love to welcome some new faces to the studio and our Pre-School Ballet sessions run on Saturdays from 9:30-10:00am so if your child is aged 3+, get in touch to book their place!

And if they aren’t quite 3 yet, you can join the waiting list using the dedicated form on our website 🩵

It’s not only the adults getting a brand new class this September!💃

We’re also inviting children aged 5+ to try Cumbria Dance Creatives, where our fabulous teacher Laura will encourage them to explore movement and music, use their imagination and express themselves in a fun, supportive environment.

The class is designed to build confidence, coordination and musicality while helping children develop their listening, teamwork and social skills too.

The first session is a paid trial class, giving both new and existing students the chance to see if they enjoy it before signing up for the rest of the term 🙌

These classes will also help our ballet students develop the skills they’ll need for the improvisation section of their exams, making them a brilliant addition to their regular ballet training.

The trial takes place on Monday 7th September from 4.15pm–5pm and you can book your child’s place through the contact form in our bio - we’d love to see them there! 🫶

Never danced before? Come along to our beginners’ trial class! 💃

You might have noticed us posting about our brand new Adult Contemporary class launching in September, and we’re making the very first session a trial so you can see if it’s for you before signing up…

As everyone will be learning together from the very first session, you don’t need any previous contemporary dance experience to join us!

You’ll meet our lovely teacher Laura and discover just how fun, freeing and creative contemporary dance can be, all while building your confidence alongside the rest of the class 🫶

The trial session costs £10.20 and takes place on Monday 7th September from 7pm–8pm, giving you the chance to come along and see if it’s for you before signing up for the full term 🙌
