Shopping Trip 🚌🌧️🛍️

Today we enjoyed a lovely one‑to‑one outing into town 😊
We hopped on the bus from Brampton 🚌, raincoat in hand because this weather just can’t make its mind up lately 🌦️😂

Carlisle Market was in full swing, so we had a good nosy around all the stalls 👀✨
Lots of delicious treats to tempt us 🍰😋 and plenty of pretty jewellery sparkling away 💍✨

After a wander, we made our way to B&M for a couple of bits and bobs 🛒
Then finished off our trip in M&S with a warm brew and a lovely scone ☕🍰
A perfect cosy ending to a rainy‑day adventure 💛

🎨🌽 Sensory Painting Fun at Greenlane! 🌽🎨

Today we rolled up our sleeves and got creative in the most wonderfully unusual way… by painting with corn on the cob and broccoli! 😂🌽🥦
As you do, of course!

Residents loved exploring all the different textures, using the veggies to create beautiful leafy patterns and tree designs 🍃🌳✨
Some residents enjoyed having a go with the watercolours too, letting the colours flow softly across the page 🎨💧

Even though we had a tough crowd today, we still shared a beautiful, calm, sensory‑filled morning together 💛😊
Plenty of smiles, gentle encouragement, and creativity all around.

🍪🎉 Baking Fun at Greenlane! 🎉🍪

Today we rolled up our sleeves and got stuck into some proper baking fun! 👩‍🍳✨ Flour on the table, rolling pins at the ready, and plenty of giggles along the way 😄💛

Residents rolled out delicious biscuit dough 🍪, chose their favourite cutters ⭐❤️, and decorated with colourful icing and sprinkles 🎨✨. The room was full of laughter, togetherness, and lovely chats about baking memories 🥰

We talked about how baking was often a weekly tradition in many homes — big batch cooking days where biscuits, cakes, and treats were made for the whole family 🍰👨‍👩‍👧‍👦. Some even baked more than once a week depending on how many mouths they had to feed! 🥄💬

A warm, nostalgic afternoon filled with creativity, conversation, and sweet treats 💛

🌿✨ Garden Treasure & Memory Games at Greenlane ✨🌿

Today at Greenlane we had such a lovely time out in our beautiful courtyard garden 🌞🌱. We went on a little garden treasure hunt and collected our crop — a few juicy tomatoes 🍅 and lots of cucumbers 🥒… hooray! 🎉

Everyone enjoyed exploring, chatting, and sharing memories while we gathered our goodies 💬💚. We are now starting to tidy the garden, getting everything looking neat and cosy ready for autumn 🍂🧹.

We’re creating a Reminisce Box at Greenlane House and we’d love your help! 🥰

The idea is to collect items that can spark memories, start conversations and bring back happy moments from days gone by.

We’re looking for donations of things such as:

📰 Old magazines & newspapers
📚 Books
🥫 Old tins & familiar packaging
🏠 Vintage household items
🧸 Toys & games
🎶 CDs, records or cassettes
☕ Old cups, kitchen items or familiar objects
💭 And anything else that has a story or memory behind it!

It doesn’t have to be valuable or expensive — sometimes the simplest things can bring back the strongest memories. ❤️

If you have anything at home that you think our residents might recognise, remember or enjoy talking about, we would be incredibly grateful for your donation.

💭 What advice would you give your younger self? ❤️

Today’s whiteboard activity at Greenlane House got our residents thinking back over the years and sharing the words of wisdom they would give to their younger selves.

From learning to enjoy the little things, not worrying so much about what others think, to appreciating family and making the most of every moment — there was lots of wonderful advice shared. 🥰

It was lovely hearing their stories, memories and life lessons. Our residents certainly have a wealth of wisdom to share! ❤️

We’re excited to be taking part in Macmillan Cancer Support’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning at Greenlane House! 🌟

🌿🌞 Gardening Fun at Greenlane! 👒🪴

We had such a lovely time outside in our garden today! 🌼💚
Our wonderful maintenance lady joined us, and together we pulled, dug, tidied and chatted away — proper teamwork in the sunshine! ☀️🤝

We made sure our sun hats were on 👒😄 because it was rather warm out there… but that didn’t stop us enjoying every moment.

After all that hard work, we headed back inside for a well‑earned drink 🥤💛
A perfect little afternoon!

🧩✨ Jigsaw Joy — Round Two! ✨🧩

Today at Greenlane we re‑started our jigsaw… round two! 😄🙌
Unfortunately our first attempt took a little tumble and fell to pieces 💥🧩 — but did that stop us? Absolutely not!

We popped our thinking caps back on 🎩🧠, gathered round together, and enjoyed a lovely chat while carefully rebuilding the edges. Teamwork at its finest 💛🤝

Nothing beats a good puzzle and good company!

🧶💛 Knit & Knatter Morning at Greenlane! ☕✨

Today at Greenlane we welcomed our fantastic Knit & Knatter volunteers — honestly, they brighten the whole home the moment they walk in! 🌼🤗

Residents gathered round with a cosy brew in hand ☕, needles at the ready 🪡, and the chatter started immediately… the best kind of morning buzz! 😄💬

And guess what… I learnt how to cast on using my thumb! 🙌🧶
A proper proud moment 😀

Such a warm, creative, joy‑filled morning for everyone 💛
