Another scorcher, soaking up the atmosphere at Courtfield.

On the "hottest" day of the year we can't stress enough the importance of taking on fluids.

With the season getting into full swing members made their way up the hill to Stanwix Bowling Club for a Carliol Over 55s fixture.

We would like to thank Stanwix for their warm welcome and hospitality.

19 April saw the club welcome members old and new to the annual open day.

President, Alan Hall and Lady President, Lyn Hall were on hand to greet members.

While no play on the green was possible on the day the event was very well attended with over thirty members participating and enjoying a legendary American lunch.

Thank you to everyone who came along to Saturday’s Presidents’ Day and to our special hosts President John Lindsay and Lady President Irene Lindsay.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the start of the season yesterday. Despite football, the Grand National and some downpours working against us, we had a fantastic turn out and it was lovely to welcome back so many members and new faces too.

I’m sure you’ll agree the club and the green are looking splendid after their spruce up, with a dedicated Carlisle United supporters bench for our avid footie fans amongst the new features.

Irene and John Lindsay, as our new season Presidents, are looking forward to leading the season starting with our open night this coming Monday.

Don’t forget, if you’re not currently a member, and even if you’ve never played before and would like to give bowling a try, please feel free to come along on Monday or drop us a message. We’re a friendly bunch and all ages (10yrs+) and abilities are welcome. All you need is flat soles shoes and we can supply the bowls.
