We'd like to wish good luck to all our Scottish friends returning to school this week,especially those changing school or entering important exam years.

Thanks to everyone who attended our U10/U8 coaching session today. We had quite a range of ages and abilities but everyone did very well. We hope you had fun.
A few key learning points...
Road bike riders - practice riding in the drops and on the hoods and try to get out of the habit of leaving your hands on the tops. Your bike is more stable, you are in a more aerodynamic position and you have easier access to your brakes and gears. It takes a bit of practice to feel comfortable in the drops but stick at it!
Remember to pick a good line into corners. Start wide, aim for the apex and leave the bend wide.
And use those 👀 and 👂👂! Where your 👀 go, your 🚲 goes! Be aware of riders around you at all times. (We were impressed by considerate our older riders were to the youngest ones in the last exercise by the way - well done all!)

Just 2 places left for tomorrow's coaching session - aimed at confident riders aged 5-10 ideally on road bikes though flat barred hybrids accepted.

We are looking forward to welcoming some of our regular U8 and U10 racers plus some new faces to the Circuit for a coaching session tomorrow afternoon. There are just TWO places left if anyone still wants to join us. The weather forecast is quite good but please bring waterproofs and an extra layer just in case. Don't forget a drink and a snack and of course your helmet!
Parents, please be at the green cabin to sign on by 14.20 if possible so that we can start the session promptly at 14.30. Consent forms have been emailed out so please check your inboxes.

Events British Cycling

Wow! Only 24 hours since booking for our U8/ U10 Coaching session on Thurs 6th August opened and half the places are full already! Don't wait too long to book if you want to attend.

Our Youth D and E specific coaching session is now open for entry on the British Cycling website. The session will run from 14.30 to 16.00 on Thursday 6th August. To get the most out of this session riders should be on a road bike but children riding flat barred bikes are welcome to attend.

The Circuit is now booked for our Youth D and E Coaching session.
14.30-16.00 on THURSDAY 6TH AUGUST.
Cost will be £5 per rider.
We'll get it onto the British Cycling Events page as soon as we can, but get the date in your diaries!

Youth D & E riders (born 2016 or later) would you be interested in a one off coaching session at the Circuit in the Summer holidays? It would be particularly aimed at those who have been new to racing this year or who fancy giving it a go next year but more experienced racers would be welcome too. We have had a lovely bunch of young riders in this age group this year, many of whom are new to the Circuit and we'd like to support them a bit more. It wouldn't be anything super serious, just a bit of work on some things like position on the bike, use of gears and cornering, and some fun games. We can't make any promises at this stage - it would depend on the level of interest and being able to find a suitable date - but if you'd be interested reply to this post or email us on [email protected] and if there are enough of you we will try to set something up for an afternoon in August.

Next week we have Youth racing followed by a Cat2/3/4 race. We are excited to welcome a group of Youth riders from Cycling Munster in the Republic of Ireland it would be good to have a decent turn out. Since we have guests, we'll also have refreshments!
