The first Saturday of the off season..

The darkest day for cricketers everywhere.

Stay strong, Pre-season nets are only six months away.

Survival Kit for the Dark Months

The Phantom Guard Check: Catching yourself adjusting your box and taking two-stump middle while walking through the living room to get a cold one.i

The Backyard Relic: Staring at the half-tennis ball buried in the prickles behind the shed, wondering what could of been if you'd if you'd blocked not swung that one time.

Vibe Deficit: Realising you now have to actually interact with your family on a Saturday afternoon instead of standing in the shade dropping a boundary catch every three hours whilst shouting 'line and length' at every young buck trying to crack the poles.

Ground Inspection: Walking out onto the back deck at 1:30 pm to glare at the sky, muttering "pitch would've been a bit tacky early, definitely a bat-first day" to absolutely no one.

Hang in there. Sanding down the willow starts in January..
