Take your first steps into umpiring!🏓

Interested in becoming a qualified table tennis umpire? Our next Level 1 Umpiring Course will take place on Sunday 6 September, from 10:00am to 4:00pm at Sport Wales.

Whether you're looking to support your local club, officiate at competitions, or deepen your understanding of the rules of the game, this course is the perfect place to start.

Participants will gain an introduction to the role of an umpire, learn the key laws and regulations of table tennis, and develop the confidence to officiate matches.

Time for ⭐Volunteer of the Month⭐

Jane Reeks has a long history on the table across England and, in later years, Wales, with some success to boot. And over the past couple of years, she has given back to the sport, starting her volunteering journey at her local club, Gwent Table Tennis Club.

She can be found assisting Head Coach Mike Marsden with junior coaching every Thursday evening and covering the sessions when needed. Having completed her Level 1 Session Coach Award in 2024 and her Level 2 Lead Coach Award in 2025, Jane now has the confidence and skills to volunteer and help coach the youth of our sport.

“Volunteering, in the sport I love, has been so rewarding and I'm proud to be the starting point of youngsters’ journeys in table tennis,” she says.

“We don't all get to be national champions but our clubs and leagues are full of members who love to play, improve, compete and make great friendships in life whilst keeping fit, physically and mentally. I love our game!”
