🥎 Tournament Weekend is Here! 🥎

​The lineup cards are officially locked in for the Windsor Invitational Tournament (WITS) this weekend!

​Unfortunately, Joseph Williams has had to drop out, but the rest of the squads are ready to roll. It's shaping up to be a brilliant couple of days of softball, though it's definitely going to be a hot one out there! Make sure to pack the sunscreen and stay hydrated. ☀️🥤

​Best of luck to both our Intercomp and Rec teams—play hard, have fun, and let's bring home some great results.

​What a massive night of softball at Pontcanna Fields! 🤯 This week's results have completely reshaped the playoff race. With only one week left in Phase 1, the Bottom 4 teams have been mathematically locked into Division 2, leaving a brutal 3-way shootout for the remaining tickets to the top tier!

​It doesn't matter where you finish in the top half—your team just needs to find a way to finish in the Top 5 to guarantee Division 1 softball for Phase 2.

​What a night down at Llandaff Fields! Chaos came out with a point to prove after last week's setback, while the Red Sox fought hard but just couldn't contain a clinical offensive display.

Statement made! Chaos bounced back in a massive way, finding their groove early and keeping the gas pedal down to put up a huge 37 runs. The Red Sox kept plugging away and put together some great hitting sequences of their own to cross the plate 10 times, but the night belonged entirely to Chaos as they firmly cement their spot back at the top end of the table.

While they had a comfortable run against the Red Dragons (19-4), they've shown they can win the close ones too, grinding out hard-fought victories over the Hammers (18-15) and Base Invaders (25-20). A win tonight puts them right back on track near the top of the table.

​Cardiff Red Sox: The Red Sox have had a tricky run lately, dropping tough battles against the high-flying Hurricanes and a hot-hitting Base Invaders side. But don't count them out—this squad has been putting in the work and is completely capable of catching fire. 🥎 WEEK 9 RESULTS POST! 🥎

​What a Monday night of softball—and what an absolute logistical triumph! Moving our fixtures to avoid the clashing concert was already a challenge, but throwing a busy cricket league night into the mix meant we were scattered across random pitches all over Pontcanna and Llandaff Fields. It was all a bit all over the place, but a massive shoutout to everyone for hunting down their bases, adapting on the fly, and ensuring every single game got played! 🙌

​Here is how the action unfolded across the park for our wild Week 9 matchups:

​🏟️ Hurricanes vs. Chaos
​Result: Hurricanes 29 – 7 Chaos
A highly anticipated battle between two 4-1 heavyweights turned into an absolute masterclass by the Hurricanes. Their offense completely caught fire, dismantling a very strong Chaos side to firmly establish themselves as one of the teams to beat. Chaos will be looking to regroup quickly after this speed bump!

​🏟️ Inglorious Batters vs. Hammers
​Result: Inglorious Batters 10 – 11 Hammers
Game of the night! This was an absolute nail-biter from start to finish. The Inglorious Batters brought all the offensive firepower we expected, but the Hammers showed incredible grit to stop the "win one, lose one" trend, edging out a clutch one-run victory.

​🏟️ Teirw'r Taf vs. Base Invaders
​Result: Teirw'r Taf 13 – 20 Base Invaders
The upset of the evening! Base Invaders completely ignored the standings and blew up the script. Hunting for momentum, their bats absolutely came alive to put up 20 runs against a historically resilient Teirw'r Taf defense, securing a massive, well-earned second victory of the season!

​🔄 Midweek Rescheduled Fixture (Wednesday, 1st July)

​Hurricanes vs. Red Dragons
Result: Hurricanes 21 – 5 Red Dragons
As if a dominant Monday wasn't enough, the Hurricanes pulled double duty on Wednesday night for their rescheduled game! They kept the momentum rolling right through the Red Dragons with a clinical 21-5 display, capping off an unbelievable week for the team.
