📊 126 workers killed at work in 2025/26.

Falls from height. Struck by moving vehicle. Struck by moving object. Trapped or overturned. Machinery contact. Together, they account for about 80% of all worker deaths. Construction and agriculture make up nearly 40% of fatalities combined. Falls alone have topped the list in almost every year since 2001.

But there's a second story: self-employed workers account for a third of all deaths while making up only 15% of the workforce. Workers aged 60+ make up a third of deaths while representing 12% of the workforce. And public deaths rose to 104 — the fourth consecutive annual increase.
