🔥 Newcomer Rule Change 🔥

We’d like to let everyone know about a small rule change for this year’s Welsh Champs.

Competitors will no longer be able to enter both the Newcomer and Intermediate categories (Intermediate/Intermediate Chill). Competitors will need to choose between Newcomer or Intermediate level.

We’ve made this change because we want to create a fairer split between the categories and, importantly, better support the purpose of our Newcomer division.

We want Newcomer to remain a genuine and welcoming entry point into competition, a place where dancers can gain confidence, experience and enjoy their first steps into competing. For those who feel ready to take that next step, Intermediate is there to provide a greater level of challenge and competition.

Overall, we believe this change will create a better competition experience overall and allow both categories to thrive.

If you compete in Newcomer, you are still welcome to compete in other categories, such as lucky dip, top cats, pro am, funked up, Ceroc X, line dance, and tag. It just rules out the option of doing Intermediate/Chill.

We appreciate that this is a change from previous Ceroc champs events, and we really appreciate everyone’s understanding and support as we continue to develop Welsh Champs. Competitors have been communicated with prior if this has impacted their booking. If you are yet to book and unsure what category suits you, please message or email us, we'll be happy to discuss 😊

🔥 Welsh Champs 2026 Judge 🔥

We're delighted to welcome Dee back to the Ceroc Welsh Championships judging panel. A familiar face across the UK Ceroc scene, Dee has spent more than 25 years immersed in partner dancing, earning a reputation as an accomplished competitor, respected DJ, and passionate advocate for Ceroc and SILC.

Many dancers will know Dee from her outstanding DJ sets at Escape weekenders and events, where her love of music and dance shines through. Away from the DJ booth, she's enjoyed remarkable success on the competition floor, collecting numerous Championship titles, including an incredible ten Double Trouble victories and a memorable World Modern Jive Championship Sophisticated title.

As a judge, Dee brings a wealth of experience and an appreciation for the qualities that make a performance truly memorable. She looks for dancers who combine musicality, strong partnership, confidence, and genuine enjoyment, creating performances that connect with both their partner and the audience.

We're thrilled to have Dee back again at Welsh and she can't wait to see the talent, passion, and creativity that this year's competitors bring to the floor.

🔥 Welsh Champs 2026 Head Judge 🔥

Our head judge for Welsh Champs 2026 is the one, the only, our absolute superstar, Jen Eddy 🥰

She has been learning, competing and winning championships in dance from an early age, such as Latin and Ballroom, line dancing, and modern jive. Whether it’s going solo, dancing with a partner or moving as part of a team – Jen was born to dance and even studied a dance degree at University.

Jen fell in love with Ceroc in 2012 and now has over a decade of experience, all while accumulating various titles, specifically SEVEN Open titles (including World Modern Jive Champion) and two Ceroc Grandmasters titles!

Jen is also a judge and head judge across many other Ceroc competitions, and has developed and delivered the judges training course for the Ceroc Champs series. She is also an expert DJ across the UK, and is the resident DJ for Ceroc South Wales freestyle events!
