From starting their dance journey together as toddlers in Tiny Ballet to successfully completing their Royal Academy of Dance Pre-Primary in Dance Ballet Class Examination to a high standard. ✨

Meet 4-year-old dancers Keira and Teysha.🩰

From Keira and Teysha's first steps in our Tiny Ballet program to successfully achieving RAD Pre-Primary in Dance Ballet with high marks, and now both studying RAD Primary in Dance Ballet, they are an inspiration to Tiny Dancers. Typically, young dancers studying the Royal Academy of Dance Ballet syllabus are aged 5 when they undertake the RAD Pre-Primary in Dance Ballet Class Examination and 6 when studying the RAD Primary in Dance Ballet Syllabus. Achieving this milestone with marks of 3 2 3 3 for Keira and 3 3 3 3 for Teysha at only 4 years old puts Keira and Teysha well ahead in their development, when the maximum marks in each section of a class examination are 3.

Keira and Teysha do not attend the same nursery, but they share the dance studio and their Saturday morning journey, which began with Tiny Ballet and has now progressed to their RAD Primary in Dance Ballet classes. With Keira also studying ISTD Primary Tap, they have embraced their dreams and utilised their imagination and creativity with a positive mindset. 🌟

Entering an examination room at 4 years old takes courage, determination, focus, independence and confidence. However, having your best friend by your side makes any challenge feel like an adventure. 🌈Throughout their examination preparation, they supported and encouraged each other, turning their focus on classical ballet technique and artistry into moments of joy and laughter.

At En Pointe Theatre Arts, we believe professional-level dance training thrives in a positive, nurturing environment. Whilst we value achieving excellence in our dancers' technique and performance, we are also building a nurturing and supportive community where initial connections develop into lifelong friendships. ⭐️

Watching Keira and Teysha's confidence and creativity grow alongside their technical and artistic abilities as young dancers is magical. It shows that when children are part of a positive community where they belong, their creativity, imagination, and confidence shine through.

If you are looking for a positive dance community where your child feels they genuinely belong and can make lifelong friendships from the outset of their dance journey. Register your child for July 2026 or for our Autumn term commencing 1st September 2026.

The studio was filled with excitement, focus, determination, and dedication today for Paisley, age 5, and Ruby, age 4, as they took part in Royal Academy of Dance Pre-Primary in Dance Ballet. 🌟

For Paisley and Ruby, it marked the start of the Royal Academy of Dance Examination journey, commencing with their RAD Pre-Primary in Dance Class Examination. 🩰✨

Instead of feeling nervous, they were excited to take their first examination, demonstrating internal motivation, creativity, and determination. Paisley and Ruby have studied their RAD Pre-Primary in Dance Ballet syllabus diligently for the past 12-18 months, demonstrating self-discipline, problem-solving, imagination, collaboration, independence, and confidence as they have grown as dancers and individuals. ⭐️

Supporting our dancers in achieving excellence in their technical and artistic performance at every stage of their dance journey is important to us at En Pointe Theatre Arts. Small class sizes, capped at 10 students, enable us to prepare classes suited to the learning needs and preferences of our dancers, keeping them engaged whilst supporting them in facing challenges that arise when learning choreography or complex movements. 👑

Examinations give dancers an opportunity to showcase their dedication, determination, and motivation to an external examiner, offering a sense of accomplishment and pride upon completion. They also enhance self-belief, self-efficacy, and confidence. 🧑‍🩰

We asked Paisley and Ruby what they enjoyed about their first examination experience. For Paisley, it was using her imagination to be a “witch” and create a potion during her imaginative sequence, allowing her to express herself and encouraging her not only to embody the witch's character but also to verbally share her own ideas. Ruby enjoyed “the dancing”. 🌈

Paisley and Ruby demonstrated focus, determination, independence, collaboration, a strong work ethic, intrinsic motivation, and self-belief on their journey towards technical and artistic excellence as young ballet dancers. 🎀

If you want your child to develop technical and artistic excellence in a supportive, positive environment where they are encouraged to embrace their dreams, pursue them with courage, and overcome challenges with a positive mindset, our dance community is for you. ✨

Limited spaces are available for classes from age 2 through adulthood in a range of genres, including ballet, tap, and modern. Contact us today to register for your two-week taster sessions either before we break up on 31st August or from 1st September 2026. 📆

The discipline of classical ballet begins the moment a dancer puts in hairpins ✨

We want to share some of our favourite ballet hairstyles: crossover braids and classical ballet buns. 🩰 Here are two pictures of RAD Grade 2 and 3 Ballet Dancer Seren showcasing both variations.

Even before En Pointe Theatre Arts dancers step into the studio, they prepare their hair for class, setting the tone for the day. 🌟

While it may seem like a small detail, it has a significant impact on performance as dancers strive for excellent technique. Tying hair back is not only about tradition; it reduces distractions, helps dancers focus on improving their technique, and enables them to feel like true dancers, motivating them to perform at their best from the outset. When a young dancer catches their reflection in our studio mirror or performs in productions or exams, with hair perfectly styled in their favourite ballet style and the correct uniform, they show pride, which enhances posture, focus, self-confidence, and self-efficacy.⭐️

En Pointe Theatre Dancers fromRAD Pre-Primary in Dance through RAD Grade 3 Ballet are required to wear their hair in crossover braids for examinations, and then from Grades 4 onwards they are provided the opportunity of a classical bun. Seren’s crossover braid picture was taken at her RAD Grade 1 Ballet Examination session, and the classical bun was created during our studio photoshoot week with dance photographer Dusty Miller , as she wanted a proper and correct classical ballet bun ⭐️

At En Pointe Theatre Arts, we believe achieving excellence in dance goes hand in hand with developing a disciplined, focused mindset.

At Pointe Theatre Arts, students learn from the outset the importance of presentation: with their hair in a classical bun or crossover braids for ballet, and wearing their correct class uniforms with pride, creating uniformity and a sense of belonging. From the youngest dancers (at age 2) in our pre-school program to our older students preparing for examinations with the Royal Academy of Dance and productions, ensuring their hair is neat and ready helps them focus and remove the noise from the outside world as they transition into a space where they are encouraged to chase their dreams 🌈

Watching dancers arrive at classes focused, prepared, and ready to perform at their best reflects the work ethic inside our community. 🧑‍🩰

If you are looking for a positive, supportive environment where your child can develop focus, discipline, and confidence whilst receiving professional-standard tuition. Join us for the remainder of July 2026 (classes finish 31st July 2026), or for our Autumn term commencing 1st September 2026.

School friendships are amazing, but there is something magical about the connections made at En Pointe Theatre Arts. ✨

When children commence their dance journey with us, whether in ballet, tap, modern, national, or contemporary, they are not just learning new movements and technical and artistic skills. They are stepping into a nurturing, supportive, positive environment where they belong and are accepted for who they are, regardless of their aspirations. 🌟

Meet Isabelle, age 8, and Seren, age 10. 🩰

They attend different schools, are different ages, started their dance journey at different times, and do not live in the same area. Isabelle is studying RAD Grade 1 Ballet, and Seren is studying RAD Grades 2 and 3 Ballet, along with ISTD Grade 1 Tap and ISTD Grade 2 Modern. This did not stop their connection from forming. The girls worked together to complete an ISTD Primary Class Examination, which combined dancers from both RAD Grade 1 and RAD Grade 2 classes to aid the development of their character work within their classical ballet syllabus. It started with group work, then Seren helped Isabelle understand the technical elements of character work that she had learnt on her RAD Grade 1 ballet journey, which reappeared within the national work.

Isabelle was inspired by Seren's dedication to dance and commenced her ISTD Grade 1 Tap and ISTD Grade 2 modern training; alongside this, she also joined the RAD Grade 2 ballet class. This has allowed the friendship to continue to grow and develop through working together in tap, modern and RAD Grade 2 ballet. Whilst both dancers are on their own journey, they continue to support and encourage each other regardless of their level of training. ⭐

Outside the academic curriculum, our dancers build connections through initial introductions to confident, inseparable peers. These peers support and encourage one another in all classes, examinations, productions and community performances. 🌈

We believe professional-standard dance training thrives when students are nurtured, make new connections, feel supported and heard, and are valued for their own individual learning styles and preferences. Whilst we place an emphasis on technical and artistic excellence, our dancers' community remains positive and encouraging for everyone.

If you are looking for a community where your child can make new friends outside the academic classroom, we are welcoming new dancers into the En Pointe Theatre Arts community for July 2026. We are also registering for the autumn term commencing 1st September 2026.

Jumping into Monday with excellence, dreams, positivity, and community! 🌟 Meet our ISTD Pre-Primary Tap Dancers, Esmae and Ruby ✨

ISTD Pre-Primary Tap Dancers, ages 3-6 years, enjoy utilising multicoloured spots in a caterpillar and practising jumping on the balls of their feet. This week, we added an additional challenge: jumping the feet apart to aid preparation for a skill they will need at Primary Tap level. 🎀🩰

Tap improves young dancers' rhythm, musicality, performance, confidence, fine and gross motor skills, understanding of musical dynamics (fast and slow; loud and quiet), active listening, concentration, resilience, coordination, and independence, whilst making new friendships that last a lifetime. ⭐️🌈

✨A real “Seren”

In Welsh, Seren translates to Star 🌟

Today, En Pointe Theatre Arts' own Seren shone brilliantly during her first of three ISTD Grade 1 Tap Examination rehearsals. Her passion and determination set an inspiring example for all our dancers. With her sights set on Grade 2 from September 2026, Seren reminds us that every step forward is a victory worth celebrating. 🌟

As a Level 1 Future Teacher Assistant Student, Seren also attended and assisted with rehearsals for our RAD Pre-Primary in Dance Ballet and RAD Grade 1 Ballet examinations, helping Miss Danielle with the music and recapping exercises after our dancers' mock examinations. With RAD Examinations taking place next Sunday, 12th July 2026, for three of our ballet students, Seren’s commitment and enthusiasm shine through. 💫

At En Pointe Theatre Arts, Excellence in Technique goes hand in hand with leadership and artistic performance. We believe in cultivating not only strong dancers but also confident and compassionate individuals who uplift those around them. As Seren prepares for her ISTD Grade 1 Tap examination, she also studies RAD Grades 2 and 3 Ballet and ISTD Grade 2 Modern Theatre. Seren is learning to lead by example, communicate positively, create her own choreography, and deepen her understanding of dance technique, all while inspiring younger dancers to dream big and reach higher. 🌠

RAD Pre-Primary in Dance Ballet Examination: Student Paisley Spotlight

The countdown is on for Paisley’s first-ever Royal Academy of Dance Ballet examination on 12th July!

Watching Paisley’s journey has been inspiring. In just eight months, she has blossomed, perfecting her classical ballet technique while growing in confidence, independence, resilience, creativity, and imagination. When Paisley first entered the studio in September 2025, aged just four, she was a little shy. Our goal was to nurture her self-belief so she could achieve her personal best, both in dance and as a young person. Now, at age five, she is bravely stepping into her first examination, a huge milestone in Paisley's dance journey! This achievement celebrates her dedication and awards her a medal and certificate, instilling a sense of accomplishment and pride that will last a lifetime. 💖

During our examination rehearsals, whether filmed or in person, we love to capture our dancers’ progress on the school iPad. 🎥 This documents every step of their journey through the levels and gives parents special memories to cherish as their children grow from their first Pre-Primary exam to their final vocational assessments. These recordings are a fantastic tool for home practice during the vital weeks leading up to their examination helping dancers develop both technical and artistic excellence. By encouraging problem-solving, self-reflection, and determination, we empower our students to reach their full potential. We also provide detailed written feedback after each rehearsal, so every dancer knows exactly where to focus their efforts and can step into their examination feeling confident and prepared! ✨

We’re excited to announce that enrolment is now open for new dancers aged 4.5+ (Reception and Year 1) in our RAD Pre-Primary in Dance Ballet Classes! 🩰 Enrol now to join us every Saturday from 10:30–11:15am at Pontprennau Primary School throughout July 2026. Classes will pause in August, and we’ll be back to dance together starting 1st September 2026. This is the perfect opportunity for young dancers to begin their ballet journey in a nurturing and inspiring environment! 🌈

We believe every child deserves individual attention to thrive, not only as dancers but as confident young people. That’s why we cap our classes at just 10 dancers, ensuring personalised support and encouragement for each child to grow! 🌟
