We're delighted to welcome British and Welsh Para Athlete Alun Evans back to the Para Sport Championships this year.

"I’ve really enjoyed competing at Welsh Shooting events over the years, and I’m looking forward to being part of the Para Sport Championships again this year.

What I really like about these events is how inclusive they are. It’s great to have the opportunity to compete alongside other para-athletes of all levels from beginners to Paralympians, as well as non-disabled athletes, all taking part in the same sport and sharing the same competition environment. It's a great chance to learn and get advice from those who have similar needs to really enjoy and improve.

Events like this are really important for giving para-athletes the opportunity to compete, meet other athletes who many have become good friends over the years and just enjoy the sport. It’s always a great atmosphere, and I’m looking forward to another weekend of competition in Swansea.”

The Para Sport Championships continue to provide opportunities for athletes of all abilities to compete, connect, learn from one another, and be part of an inclusive sporting community.

As part of Welsh Shooting's *Hit Your Mark – Strategy for Sport Shooting in Wales 2026–2030*, the Performance Pathway will now be delivered through our Member Associations. This reflects our commitment to a more collaborative, sport-led approach that strengthens athlete development pathways and supports the future growth of shooting in Wales.

We would particularly like to thank our Performance Coaches for their professionalism, commitment and dedicated service in delivering the Welsh Shooting Performance Pathway. Their hard work, expertise and leadership have played a significant role in supporting athlete development and shaping the programme over many years. Their contribution to shooting in Wales has been greatly valued and appreciated, and we look forward to seeing the positive impact they will continue to have on the sport in Wales in the years ahead.

We look forward to supporting our Member Associations as they lead the next phase of performance development and help athletes across Wales to achieve their potential.

We can today confirm the athletes selected to represent Great Britain across the ISSF World Cup in Cairo, the European Shotgun Championships in Greece and the ISSF Junior World Cup in Italy.

From Olympic medallists and reigning European champions to athletes earning their first senior call-ups, it’s set to be a busy few weeks on the international stage.
