Northgate Rangers FC

Sunday saw Northgate play there first preseason game of the season vs OyseterBoysfc. The game got of to a rocky start seeing Northgate struggle to get the ball under control witch allowed a well organised opposition nock the ball around us, we conceded a goal withen about 10 mins left of the first half witch we did well to see out the first half 1-0 down.

The boys came in and the manager made a change in formation witch allowed the boys show what we are really made of. And we really did that, we stuck to our play and got the ball down and played some of if not the best football I've seen in a while. They really did each other proud by putting them under pressure on every touch they had.

We got the equaliser we deserved by a new signing Papi. Not long after that we got a second goal through another new signing Vik casting havoc all game and got a well pounced goal to make it 2-1 and then to top it all off top goal scorer last season Mason got the third by a lovely through ball and he slotted it away to make it 3-1.

But more importantly we got the win, they listened to each other and the manager and dug deep, we put a very mature performance out there after a while out onto our next game this Sunday.

The club are sad to hear about the death of one of the original Rangers Alan Gawler.

Alan played for the club for many years as a no-nonsense Left Back and was ever present after a game for a pint and a deep discussion about the Hammers!

He will be missed by all at the club. Funeral details below and donations to Cancer Research UK.
