Toby joined the club in September 2024 and has competed in BUCS and various other competitions throughout his time at Kent. He is now going into his second year as Men’s Captain and our Student Coach!

Catching up on our bucs matches… Well done to both our Mixed and Women’s teams who preformed brilliantly against Essex and Reading a couple of weeks ago.
Well done to our Mvp’s, for the Women’s teams we have Winnie, who carried the team through epee and foil with a +14 indicator on foil. Our Mvp for the mixed team is Cris, for doing some great epee even pulling back from a deficit

Venue
University of Kent Sports Centre, Canterbury, CT2 7NL
There is limited parking available on site. There are frequent buses and taxis available from the city centre bus station and Canterbury West train station.
Date Saturday 21st March 2026
Entries open 16th January 2026 at 12.00 through the shop below.
Entries close 14th March 2026 at 23.00. Late entries at £25 may be permitted, at the organiser's discretion.
Format
Both epee and sabre will start with poules, followed by direct eliminations. All fencers will be promoted to direct eliminations. To maximise the amount of fencing there may be mixed genders and/ or experience in the poules, and if time allows there may be a second round of poules. Depending on the number of entries in each category the direct eliminations may be split between mixed and female, and/ or novice/ intermediate.
The organisers reserve the right to change the formula to assist the smooth running of the event and to improve the experience for all participants.
Eligibility
Novices: Fencers who started fencing on or after 1st March 2024
Intermediates: Fencers who started fencing on or after 1st March 2021.
All participants must not hold a top 30 British Fencing ranking in any weapon.
All participants need Full/ Compete British Fencing membership.
This event is for Senior (13+) members only.
Minimum Equipment
350N jacket and breeches
Chest protector if necessary
Long socks
800N plastron
Mask (electric for sabre plus mask wire)
Glove (800N for sabre)
Weapon and body wires
Lame for sabre
The safety of all kit will be checked by organisers/ referees.
Please note there will not be any armoury shop or services available, so please bring all your own equipment including spares.
