🍰 WARNING: Attending Cannock Chase parkrun on 25th July may result in the irresistible urge to consume cake... and we're absolutely fine with that! 😄
We're hosting the first of four Baked Goods Exchanges in support of Ginge, Nick, Sculli and Jamie's Kilimanjaro Challenge ahead of our climb in January 2027.
Forget gels and energy bars... this week it’ll all be about brownies, flapjacks, cookies, cupcakes, traybakes and anything else that pairs perfectly with a post-parkrun coffee! ☕🍪
💳 Cash and card ‘exchanges’ accepted
❤️ 100% of the money raised goes directly to Birmingham Children's Hospital Charity and Carter the Brave. Our Kilimanjaro challenge is completely self-funded, so every penny you donate supports these amazing charities.
🎂 Can you help?
We're looking for some star bakers! If you'd be willing to donate a cake, traybake, biscuits, muffins or any other delicious homemade (or shop-bought, we won't judge! 😉) treats, we'd love to hear from you. Every donated bake helps us raise even more for these fantastic causes.
Drop us a message if you can bake or donate something for the stall.
Please come along, bring your appetite, bring your friends, and help us prove that running and cake really do go hand in hand! 🏃🍰

**Results Edit**
Apologies - we've needed to edit the results today due to a funnel ducker* - meaning that everyone after position 218 has moved down a place.
* A funnel ducker is a participant who crosses the finish line, gets timed by the timekeepers, but ducks out of the finish funnel before taking a finish token. This breaks the sync between the recorded times and tokens, causing incorrect results for everyone.

**PARKING - HEADS UP**
It looks like the barrier to the car park isn't working at the moment - so please be prepared to find alternative parking.

Just 1 more marshal needed to fill the roster for Saturday - can you help?
Drop your parkrun id in the comments and we’ll add you to the hi-viz hero team. ❤️🦺

STILL A FEW ROLES TO FILL!
👟😂 **Calling all legends, heroes, and people who like high‑vis fashion… we need you!** 😂👟
This week’s parkrun is looking a little… under-volunteered. Don’t worry—no experience required, just the ability to smile, clap, and possibly operate a smartphone 🔢
We’re on the hunt for:
📱 Barcode Scanners x 1
🚧 Funnel Manager x 1
📣 Marshals x 2
No running required (unless you really want to show off), maximum feel-good vibes guaranteed 💚
👉 Comment below or message us if you can help—your future parkrun karma depends on it!

Well, what a difference a day makes! The cooler weather returned just in time, meaning 347 of you chose to run, jog or walk our wonderful course without the added challenge of melting into your trainers. It was certainly a more forgiving morning, and judging by the smiling faces at the finish, everyone appreciated Mother Nature finally turning the thermostat down.
A big thank you to everyone who left their dogs at home today. We know many of our regular four-legged barkrunners would have loved to join in, but putting their wellbeing first in the heat was absolutely the right thing to do. We’re sure they enjoyed an extra lie-in while you came to earn the treats instead!
As always, parkrun simply couldn’t happen without our incredible volunteers. From the cheerful marshals and patient timekeepers to the barcode scanners, finish token team and everyone else who gave up their Saturday morning so others could enjoy theirs - you are all absolute stars. Please give them a big thank you whenever you see them in their high-vis vests.
Finally, a huge happy 60th birthday to Nick! We hope you had a fantastic celebration and that spending your milestone birthday with your parkrun family was the perfect way to kick off the festivities. Sixty never looked so speedy (or sweaty)!
Thank you all for another brilliant morning. Whether you were chasing a PB, catching up with friends, or simply enjoying a walk in the fresh air, you helped make today’s event another memorable one. We’ll do it all again next Saturday - same time, same place (and hopefully with the same sensible weather!).
