A FABULOUS SEASON!
As the nights draw in and the temperatures fall we finished the final two competitions last night with many members turning up to spectate.

Mhairi McKellar regained the Ladies Champion title on her return to playing after a serious knee injury in 2024. Well done Mhairi!

Stuart Crossan won the Men’s Championship trophy, the Dickson Cup, for the first time, beating Finlay Bainbridge 7-6 (11-9), 0-6, 6-1 in a thrilling final. A record sixteen Men entered this competition, showing how keen this section of the club has been this summer. Well done Stuart!

Finlay Bainbridge also finished the season with a trophy- the Men’s Summer League, losing only one of his matches to Jamie Morris. Well done Finlay!

And lastly, five couples entered the Mixed Doubles competition playing in a round robin for the Platypus Trophy.
Craig Morris and Valerie MacKay won this cup, winning all of their matches, with John Watson and Mhairi McKellar as runners up.
Well done Valerie and Craig.

Looking forward to next season already!!!!!

Men’s Spring League

Back in May 12 members were split into 2 leagues and played round robin matches. Pedro Munoz Lopez and Stuart Crossan won their respective leagues, then they played off the semi finals against the second placed players. Pedro won against Craig Morris and Stuart won against Craig’s brother , Jamie.
The final was a very close contest with excellent tennis and court coverage from both players. Pedro won the first set comfortably 6-1, but Stuart fought back to break Pedro’s serve in the second set to win 6-4. The final set was tense with Pedro breaking Stuart’s serve to win the match 6-1, 4-6, 6-4. We’ll done to both players for a great final.
