Poor day at the office from the lads today. Started with the same 11 for the 3rd week in a row. We were off the pace today with too many boys not on their game. Credit to Eddlewood as they won the individual & collective battles all over the park. Eddlewoods winner clearly comes off the post and back out but the referee gave a goal citing the ball hit a metal bar sitting in the inside of the goal 🙈. Even some the eddlewood boys said it wasnt a goal, But listen no sour grapes, we were poor today!. We dust ourselves off and have a good week at training and go again.

2nd game of our group in the Challenge Cup with the boys looking to kick on after last weeks victory.

Coaches went with same 4-3-3 with Charlie no1.
Back 4 of Ethan, Reiss, Ollie, and Kai.
Midfield 3 of Taylor, Lewis, and Cami. Congrats to Cami who played against Celtic on Friday night for Queens Park.
Front 3 of Colin, Jack, and Wali.

On the bench we had Shayne, Danny, Aiden, Dirko, Wisdom, and young Daniel Barr as a trialist. When he came on he showed he would be a very good fit in this Cambuslang side, likes to get it down and play 👏

1st half performance was excellent, the boys moved the ball all over the pitch. They are clearly working on 1 and 2 touch football in training, it was very impressive in that 1st half resulting in a 7-0 HT score.

The intensity dropped in the 2nd half, this was always going to be the case. But the boys added another 3 goals with Westend grabbing a consolation goal with a brilliant strike from distance.

A few cracking performances with Taylor scoring 4, but young Ollie was a stand out at the heart of defence.
Kept his team playing and moving the ball quickly and defended very well when required.

Well done guys, back to it on Tuesday 👏👏

1st competitive game of the season today and the coaches went with their 4-3-3 formation.
In goal Charlie who had an outstanding game today, every cross that came into the box, the big man came and collected 👏👏.
Back 4 of Ethan, Reiss, Ollie, and Kai.All 4 were very good, after an initial nervy 1st 15 they dominated their opponents.
Midfield 3 of Cami, Lewis, and Taylor showed the workrate and skill required to win football matches at this level. Front 3 of Colin, Jack, and Wali constantly unnerved tbe Chryston backline. On the bench today we had Aiden, Danny, Shadrack, Dirko, Wisdom and new lad Shane. We had some excellent performances all over the pitch, good to see Wali produce what he is capable of, but Shayne on his debut off the bench was very good. He showed the coaches that he is a lad they can work with as he showed great touches, but a real eagerness to get the ball back for his team. The group showed a real togetherness right through the game. 1st 15 mins Chryston looked very good as they moved the ball for fun, but once Cami, Lewis, and Taylor took control in the middle of the pitch, Chryston found it very tough to get any joy. Excellent start, but it's just a start 😉 Well done to all the lads and the coaches 👏👏 The group are always looking to improve and welcome any player that helps the team grow. Another tough test for the group against a strong Edinburgh City side.

Coaches lined up in a 4-2-3-1 formation with Charlie in goal, a back four of Danny, Marc, Ollie, and Kai. Midfield 2 of Cami, and Lewis. 3 behind the striker of Colin, Taylor, and Wali, with Jack up top. Aiden and Dirko on the bench, with boys still on holiday this meant plenty mins for all. The workrate of the group was very impressive, exactly how they went about the EK game. Jack put Camby 1 up and it was well deserved. They could and should have added as they were on the front foot most of the half. 2nd half Edinburgh got a lot of the ball as Camby tired and scored a fortunate equaliser, but over the piece probably deserved. This was an excellent workout for both teams before the real stuff starts next saturday. Cambuslang are still on the lookout for advanced players to come in to help the group kick on.

We are still on the lookout for a CB & Striker for our start to life in the CLYFA 'A' Division after moving over from the CSFA 'A' Division.
