Training this week is 7.30pm at Mildenhall Hub for both teams on Wednesday night. New players welcome.

We are officially on the hunt for additional attacking players. If you are a striker, goalscoring winger, or just someone who runs fast and doesn’t panic when they see a goalkeeper, we need you.

What we are looking for:
🎯 Ability to shoot at the goal (bonus points if it goes in).
🏃‍♂️ Higher top speed than a brisk Sunday walk.
🛑 Minimal tendency to pull a hamstring during the warm-up.
▶️And allowed out to play most weeks.

Player sponsorship. £30 per player or £50 for two. This will cover the season and player pictures, still to be taken, will be shared on our FB page and X Feed. Post views range from 400-11000 dependent on the content. This money is used to cover running costs and keep player costs down.

Mixed week on the footballing front with 3 games for our teams.

Our Vets started with a 13-4 away win in a pre-season friendly v Cambridge Ambassadors. With some new additions on board and under new management they are looking forward to starting the season on September 6th.

Our 1st put in a poor performance against title favourites Fordham losing 5-0. Missing Paddy & Sam who make a big difference to this squad the manner of our defeat was disappointing and we will need to improve if we wish to compete this year. A much changed squad from last season and still adding players so it will take time to settle down. Competitive debuts for Ethan McGarr, Tanaka Nyika, Bobbie Mansell, Bobby Stocker and the returning Callum Towler.

Next game v Gamlingay 5th September.

Our Reserves who were light on Thursday night went down 3-0 to AFC Ely but some promising individual performances bode well.

This week the Reserves are training on Monday night 7pm and have an away game on Thursday v Fulbourn.

Our 1st train on Wednesday at 6.45pm.

Both Saturday teams are looking to improve numbers and competition, if you fancy a change of scenery and feel you can make a difference please get in touch. 1st Team are looking for more attacking options.

One last training session tomorrow night for our 1st Team before we head over the bridge to play a very strong Fordham FC. With a lot of change it has been a positive pre-season with some good sessions and competitive games. Results don’t really matter at this stage of the season but performances and fitness do. For the record - L3-2, W2-3, D1-1, W0-7, W1-3.
5 new recruits and 3 stepping up from the Reserves has changed the squad but still trying to get a couple more over the line. A younger squad this year but also a number of players who have been with us over the last few seasons.
We are still looking to increase numbers and competition, especially in a couple of positions, feel free to get in touch if you fancy playing at a decent level locally in a competitive league
After Fordham we don’t play again until 5th September so may look to add another friendly.

Wednesday - 1st away v Fordham FC 6.15pm ko
