One year. Ask her why she stayed.

Jenny has been with us a year now, and she is still in the room every week. No dramatic before and after, just steady work, coaches who know her numbers, and a group that notices when she is not there.

That is usually the real reason people stay: it stops feeling like a gym and starts feeling like your Tuesday.

Congratulations Jenny.

Working solo is fine… but working together hits different. 🔥

Just wrapped up a brilliant co-working session with our member Rachel Hales here in Cambridge, and it reminded me of one huge lesson: Environment is everything.

Sure, you can get things done alone at home or at the gym, but being around people who support your journey, keep things fun, and inspire you to push harder makes all the difference.

Take a look at your circle today:
👉 Who is supporting your journey?
👉 Who keeps you accountable in your health, career, and life?
👉 Who makes the process enjoyable?

At BCA Fitness, we live by three words: Connections. Community. Results.

Five stars from Gina, and the bit we care about most is not the weight on the bar, it is the technique.

“Dwayne really pushed me to lift weights I never thought I could do but also taught me how to lift them properly as I realised that my lifting technique has been wrong.”

That is what small group training gives you. Real coaching eyes on every rep, a plan that gets heavier as you get stronger, and a handful of other women in the room making it enjoyable instead of lonely.

If you have been lifting the same weights for a year, or you are not sure your form is right, that is exactly what we fix.

Thanks Gina.

On Wednesday evening over 20 of you turned up at The Engineer's House for our summer social.

Pizza, drinks, string lights and a lot of laughing. What made it, though, was who was sitting next to who. Morning people meeting the evening crowd. Members who have trained in the same gym for months and never once been in the same session, finally putting names to faces.

We talk a lot about reps, sets and calories. They matter. But social health matters just as much. Feeling connected to people, being part of something, having a reason to walk through the door that goes beyond the workout: that is the part that keeps people going for years rather than weeks.

That is why we do these nights. The training is the reason you join. The people are the reason you stay.

Thank you to everyone who came. Next one is already being planned.

This week nearly got away from me.

Work, the kids, football, and the summer social on Wednesday night. The kind of week where training is the first thing that quietly falls off the list, and nobody would have said a word if it had.

Except this lot noticed. Asked when I was in. Saved me a spot. Made it awkward to bail.

So I got two sessions done. Not my strongest, but done. And I finished the week feeling far better than I would have if I’d talked myself out of them.

That is the bit people miss about training with a group. It isn’t the kit or the programme, it’s having people who expect you to turn up. Motivation comes and goes. Being accountable to someone else doesn’t.

If you’ve been meaning to get back to it and keep pushing it to next week, you don’t need more willpower. You need people around you who’ll ask where you were.

DM me if you want to see what a week with us looks like.

Last full week before the schools go back and the diaries fill up again. If you've been telling yourself you'll "start properly in September".

You don't need a new month or a new term, you need your next session on the calendar.

Show up this week, not someday.

Yesterday I posted that I lied about my training.

This morning, Lisa made sure it didn’t happen again. Our 7am was quiet, she was the only one booked in.

She’d watched the video, and she’d decided that if I was going to start the week right, she was coming in to make sure of it.

So what should have been her 1:1 turned into a partner workout. Me training alongside her, because she held me to it.

That’s not a coach thing. That’s a club thing. This is what people don’t expect when they join BCA.

You think you’re buying sessions. What you actually get is a room full of people who notice when you’re not there and who won’t let you talk yourself out of it. Including me.

Line drawn on Sunday. Session one done on Monday.

Thanks Lisa.

Who’s holding you accountable this week?

“I got plantar fasciitis out of the blue and couldn’t walk very well for months... I was looking for something to kickstart my health again.” 💬

When desk work and an unexpected injury left Natalie sidelined, starting over felt intimidating. But 6 months ago, she decided to give BCA a try and she hasn’t looked back.

By committing to just 2 sessions a week, Natalie has built noticeable strength in her arms, legs, and glutes, all under the watchful eye of coaches who care. 🏋️‍♀️✨

Here’s what she loves most about training with us:
✅ A relaxed, non-intimidating atmosphere
✅ Personalised guidance on form & correct weights
✅ Endless variety in workouts to keep things fresh
✅ Real, noticeable strength gains fast

Natalie’s word of advice if you’re thinking about joining? 👉 “Definitely do it, because you’ll really feel a difference and it will make a difference quite quickly.”

If you’re ready to build strength safely with a supportive community behind you, we’re ready when you are. 👥
