weighed in at 37lbs.

WHY OH WHY🤷??
WE ARE AGAIN DISAPPOINTED AND FIND OURSELVES COVERING THE SAME SUBJECT..!!
Our club Secretary, spent many hours in a boat removing discarded terminal tackle from Magpie Lake this week. Most of it was in trees on the edge of the Island. He removed feeders, weights, floats, meters and meters of line and hooks. A lot of the hooks and lines were larger than the permitted maximum sizes. 🤷
We constantly ask...😔Please read the rules before fishing situated at each lakes entrance. If you do loose tackle please let someone know but don't expect it to be retrieved immediately. Help us to protect our fish and other wildlife. This is not just solely a problem on Magpie lake, it's obvious some anglers all beit the minority have a total disregard for the welfare of wildlife and abundantly clear struggle to adhere to our club rules. We don't understand why the implementation of our very clear simple rules are ignored by the minority, care and protection of our fishes welfare is surely simple enough to understand,🤔🤷 and ultimately paramount.
In very short blunt terms as it seems a few think they are above our club rulings "anyone" found not adhering to our rules will be instantly asked to leave and not return to our club waters. This will not be negotiable...!!
"Enough is Enough".

Hi again we are truly sorry and out of our control, our lakes will continue to stay closed until further notice. We will update everyone via our page, when conditions have improved for the safety and wellbeing of our fish. We do appreciate everyone's support during this 5 heatwave, take care and keep hydrated look out for the older people within all your communities. Best wishes

All our lakes will be closed as of Tomorrow Wednesday 12th August 2026 and will reopen Saturday morning 15th August 2026 at 7am.

Great to see some familiar faces back at the waters edge... Atkins, Magpie and Dodds...all entertaining many anglers. Some great catches noted today...a few even P.B's smashed. Also great to see no one disregarding the individual waters rules.Due to the heat and low oxygen levels we are enforcing no pictures and asking that you return your catch immediately to the lake. Thanks for your continued support.
