Girth straps are probably one of the most important, but often overlooked item on a saddle the first photo shows three I took off a saddle today, the fourth had broken off at the to hole, which is why the saddle came in to the workshop, when looking at the backs of the straps, note the cracking and elongated holes, dont just look at the front of your straps, lift them and check the backs when doing your safety checks, also the condition of the stitching, as they usually start to break away where the top stitch goes over the end into the webs
