We are raising money to install an artificial wicket to help support the future of cricket at the club and give players of all ages and abilities the opportunity to get involved!

We’re proud to have a thriving club with:

👦 6 youth age groups supporting 100+ boys and girls aged 5–16
👩 A growing women’s section, who competed very successfully in the softball league for the first time last year
🏏 3 men’s teams, a midweek side and two Saturday teams competing in the Cornwall Cricket League, in Division 6 West and Cornwall County 1.

With so many teams and players using our facilities, an artificial wicket would make a huge difference providing more opportunities to train, play and develop throughout the season.

Tickets are now available for Beacon Cricket Club’s 2026 Senior Awards Night which is being held at Tehidy Golf Club on Saturday 21st November 2026 from 6:30pm.

All senior players, women’s softball players, members and partners/family are invited to celebrate the 2026 season.

THANK YOU, DARREN! 💚

On behalf of everyone at Beacon Cricket Club, we’d like to say a huge thank you to Darren Proctor, who, following the washout at Newquay to bring the season to a close, has decided to hang up his boots after an incredible 30 seasons at the club.

And what a career it has been. 🤯

Darren’s Beacon 1st XI league career:

🏏 550 games out of a possible 569
🏃 10,640 runs
💯 5 centuries
5️⃣0️⃣ 50 half-centuries
🎯 491 wickets
🔥 6 five-wicket hauls
🙌 222 catches
🏃‍♂️ 31 run outs

Across those 550 league games came:

✅ 291 wins
❌ 221 losses
🤝 3 ties
🌧️ 35 abandonments

And along the way…

🏆 County Division One Champions
🏆 Cornwall T20 Centenary Winners
⬆️ 2 promotions
⬇️ 2 relegations

But beyond the statistics, 30 seasons have brought an awful lot of memories, stories, laughs and friendships — and Darren has been a huge part of what makes Beacon Cricket Club what it is.

In Darren’s own words:

“A massive thank you to everyone I’ve had the pleasure of playing alongside over the years who has made playing for Beacon such a huge part of my life. It’s been an absolute privilege and, more importantly, it’s been a hell of a lot of fun, with so many laughs!”

And thankfully, this isn't quite goodbye…

“However, I’m certainly not disappearing. I’ll still be heavily involved at Beacon beyond the boundary rope, with my committee duties, youth coaching and supporting the club in any way I can.”

So, from everyone at Beacon — thank you, Darren, for your hard work and dedication both on and off the field over the years.

A true Beacon legend. 🏏

A massive thanks to all our volunteers, who helped with the end of season work on our square. All scarified, seeded, fertilised, top dressed with loam and protected. 💚💪🏏

Bacon baps are ready!! Pop up this morning more the merrier to help us get everything done 🪺😋

The cricket season has come end but the work doesn’t stop. Our end of season work starts next Saturday!

Please try and come along and help out. The more we get helping the quicker everything gets done.

Part 1 - Saturday 5th September from 10am:
▪️Take down nets
▪️Put covers away
▪️Sort all garages and sheds
▪️Tidy all training and youth kit
▪️Put seats away
▪️Fix scoreboard shutter
▪️Fix tap surround on the outfield
▪️Plus plenty of other stuff

Part 2 - Date TBC:
▪️Scarifiy the square
▪️Blow/brush out thatch and collect
▪️Place loam
▪️Drag mat
▪️Fertilise and seed
▪️Fence off

Well, we tried!
Unfortunately the weather got the better of our first 6-a-side competition, but we did manage to get some cricket in!
Thank you to all of the 8 teams who played and everyone else who came out and supported the day, despite the dodgy forecast!
