🚧 Update on local Frimley Green works – progress for our community :

I’m pleased to share an update following my recent contact with the project team regarding the ongoing works and the traffic mitigation agreement with Surrey County Council on Wharf Road and Sturt Road junction.

I’ve now been advised that the agreement is currently being progressed, with an anticipated start date in early 2027.
Once a firm date has been finalised, the project team has confirmed that information will be communicated to the wider community.

I’ll continue to follow this closely and keep residents updated as further information becomes available.

It’s important that residents’ concerns are heard and that we continue to press for clear information and progress on issues affecting our local community.
I’ll keep you posted as soon as I have a confirmed date. 👍

🎄 Christmas Craft Fayre – Frimley 🎄

Looking for some festive fun and the chance to support local crafters and the community? 🎁✨

The Frimley Green Pre-School Christmas Craft Fayre is taking place on Sunday 6th December, from 11am–2pm at Frimley Community Centre, Balmoral Drive, Frimley, GU16 9AR.

There will be lots of lovely handmade gifts and crafts to browse — perfect for getting a little Christmas shopping done while supporting local stallholders and the pre-school. ❤️

🎄 Stall holders are still needed, with tables available for just £15.

The session is an opportunity to share your experiences of SEND services in Surrey and help Cllr Townsend better understand the experiences of local families, carers and professionals.

It was lovely yesterday to be back out on the doorstep in Frimley Green, meeting residents and having some really positive and honest conversations.

I always enjoy getting out and about, listening to people, hearing what matters to them and talking about our local community.

And I'll be doing plenty more of this throughout the year — not just at election time. Being there, listening and working for our community is something I'm committed to all year round.

A positive step forward for West Surrey, with Susan Halliwell from Bracknell Forest Unitary appointed as the new Chief Executive.

She brings over 20 years of local government experience and a fresh perspective as the new council takes shape.

From 1 April 2027, West Surrey Council will replace the existing borough and county councils across the area, bringing them together as one new council focused on delivering a fresh start and a positive future for West Surrey.

💙 Making a difference in our community :

It was a real honour last week to visit the wonderful team at Parity for Disability in Mytchett and see their fantastic new minibus. 🚌

The minibus has been made possible through SHBC Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) funding, alongside generous support from Rushmoor Rotary.

This is exactly what community funding should be about — investing locally in projects that make a genuine difference to people’s everyday lives.

The new minibus will help Parity for Disability’s attendees travel safely, stay connected and enjoy greater freedom and independence. It was lovely to hear how much of a difference it will make to the people who use the centre.

As a local Councillor, I’m incredibly proud to see CIL funding being used in such a positive and meaningful way. It’s a great example of what can be achieved when Councillors, community organisations and local groups work together.

A huge thank you to everyone at Parity for Disability for the fantastic work you do👏

Working together, supporting our community and making a real difference. 💙

🎉 Another fantastic Summer Bank Holiday Family Fun Day! 🎉

What a lovely afternoon of fun, laughter and community spirit! ☀️🎈

A huge well done to the Mytchett Community Centre for another brilliantly organised and well-run Family Fun Day. There were some lovely stalls, plenty of activities, a very popular Dog Show, games, food, drinks and lots of fun for all the family! 🐶🎪🍔

It was wonderful to see so many people coming along and enjoying the day together. ❤️

A big thank you to all the organisers, volunteers, stallholders and everyone who helped make the event such a success. 👏👏

Here's to another great community event and many more to come! 🌟
