CAM BULLDOGS 18s 3-1 WINCHCOMBE TOWN 18s

After a sloppy start to the 18s first league game of the season we found ourselves 1-0 in the first 15 minutes. That kick started the team and they stepped and started to play the better football. Cam was then awarded a free kick on the edge of the box with Louie F looking to covert. Freeman stepped up and the keeper made a good save but Cameron R was there for the rebound making it 1-1 with 10 minutes to go in the first half.

With changes made at half time the game started to come our way.

With Cameron R darting down the wing he cut inside and had a shot on goal but the keeper saved it, however the ball found itself at Sam Wardles feet and calmly and composed scored to make it 2-1. After this Cam played with confidence and some good quality passing between the midfield started to create more chances for the dogs 🐶
The back line kept a good defensive shape with Beau D in goal making some crucial saves to keep the dogs in it. With 20 minutes to go Sam C started a mazy run from defence and after jinking past about 5 players he unleashed a strike 25 yards out which the keeper could do nothing about and ending up in the back of the net. (Even the corner flag was in on the celebrations 😉
After this The Dogs kept pushing for another goal playing pressing football but couldn’t quite get the forth before the final whistle blew for Full Time. 🐶

🐶 CAM BULLDOGS 2–0 🐶

Three points and a clean sheet at home for the Dogs! 💪

With the gaffer sunning himself in Cyprus ☀️🍹, Ryan Stevenson () took the reins and guided the lads to an excellent 2–0 win over Tetbury Town.

⚽ George Mack ( ) opened the scoring — although there have been whispers of an own goal… George reckons he got something on it, so we’re giving it to him! 😂 After his brace against Stroud last week, that’s three in two games for Mack, who’s certainly found his scoring boots.

⚽ The second came from the returning . Through one-on-one, Harrison showed his quality and composure, coolly slotting past the keeper to make it 2–0. Great to see him back in a Cam shirt.

The Dogs attacked throughout and, as has been the case a few times already this season, the goal tally could easily have been higher.

At the other end, a huge shoutout to in goal and the back line of Pete Holder (), Harry Hogg ( ), Jake Mears ( )and Billy Mann ( ). Ben had a relatively quiet afternoon — which says plenty about the performances in front of him. Solid, organised and determined throughout to secure a well-deserved clean sheet. 👏

Also fantastic to welcome back to Cam after several years playing at Hellenic and Southern League level. Great to have that experience and quality back in the squad.

The 2nd team started their season with a comfortable 4-2 against tetbury 2s.
With the newly formed player management team of Frampton, kimber, chandler and philp in charge, Cam started brightly and got the ball down in tricky conditions at Everside.
Cam fired in 3 quick fire goals midway into the half, through excellent strikes from Fraser Burns, Kyle McMillan and Ryan Rochowiak. Further chances were missed before some sloppy play just before half-time gifted tetbury a goal.
2nd half Cam were on the back foot to start with playing into the wind, but put the game to bed with McMillan scoring after great work from Ryan Minns.
Again further chances were missed before tetbury scored in the last minute.
A decent performance from the lads with plenty to build on 🐶

Firsts, Reserves and our U18s are in league action this weekend. Note that the Reserves are playing at Jubillee, whilst the Firsts are at the Shed. UTFD!!!

Stroud Utd 3–3 CAM BULLDOGS

A game of two halves for the Dogs.

A disappointing start saw us concede three sloppy goals, and it was clear we weren’t firing as we usually do. Too many chances failed to hit the target and we were missing that bit of fire and intensity.

Changes at half-time and the tide began to turn. 💪

The Dogs showed their quality, strength and desire to fight their way back from 3–0 down to make it 3–3.

With the chances we created, we should have come away with all three points, so a frustrating result, but a great response and plenty more lessons to take forward.

DERBY DAY DELIGHT 🐶💜

A big response from the Bulldogs as Cam came away from Reserves with a hard-earned 2–1 local derby win.

With both sides able to name strong squads for this one 😉, Cam were back at full strength and determined to respond after the disappointment of the opening league defeat last week.

Goals from ‘Tev’ and Jack Bartman put the Dogs 2–0 up before Sharpness pulled one back. Cam were then reduced to 10 men, but dug deep when it mattered. Quality, determination and a real team effort saw the lads battle right through to the final whistle and secure a very well-earned three points.

Exactly the response we wanted. 👊🐶
