🎉 It's National Fitness Day! And no, that doesn't mean you need to run a marathon or do a 6am HIIT class to "qualify."

Here's your myth-busters for the day:

❌ Myth: "I'm too old to start lifting weights."

✅ Truth: Strength training after 40 is one of the best things you can do for your bones, your joints, and your metabolism. It's not about bulking up — it's about staying strong enough to carry the shopping, get up off the floor easily, and feel like yourself again.

❌ Myth: "Fitness has to hurt to work."

✅ Truth: Consistency beats intensity every time. A 20-minute walk you actually enjoy beats a brutal workout you dread and quit after a week.

❌ Myth: "I've left it too late."

✅ Truth: You haven't. Today is as good a day as any to start — driven by you, on your terms. 💪

So today, do something. A walk. A stretch. Ten squats in the kitchen while the kettle boils. It all counts.

Self care Friday 🧘‍♀️

I love Fridays because Friday evenings I get to go and practise some lovely restorative, relaxing yoga with a small group of special ladies.

Self care is so important and if we don’t look after ourselves no one else will do it for you.

Remember the information they give you on an airplane, put on your own mask before helping others!

Are you putting your mask on first?

Do you make sure you take care of yourself?

You can’t pour from an empty jug!

Make sure you make some time for you this weekend, even if it’s just a 15 minute walk.

Happy Friday everyone 🥰

Happy Monday!

How was your weekend?

I had a great weekend in the sunshine ☀️

Saturday I took my self off for a bike ride to get some extra miles in ready for Ironman Croatia in 6 weeks 😬.

At first I really didn’t want to go as I knew I was going on my own, there was jobs to do at home and my perimenopausal brain just couldn’t make any decisions.

Amy finally had a good talking to myself and off I went and what a great ride I had. I even stopped and treated myself to a cake on route.

Sunday was all about the tri team relays at the lakes. I love this event, lots of our club members really get behind it. We all have a great time and is lots of fun.

What did you get up to this weekend?

First day back to normality!!

It’s been great getting back into the swing of things and was so lovely to see one of my clients who I haven’t seen much over the summer due to holidays etc.

What was so lovely about our session was although we hadn’t seen each other face to face she has been working hard at home and her progress really stood out today.

Her sessions at home haven’t been long, just short sessions when she can. It was really great to see.

I feel like she has made more progress than me this summer 🤪😜🤣

Are you feeling ready to make some progress?

What are you fighting for?

Over the past month I have taken a bit of a step back from social media. Towards the end of the July I was feeling a bit burnt out with trying to run a busy business and give all my clients 110%, keep my socials up to date, be a good mum and wife, keep up with my commitments at the running club and social engagements.

As women we have historically had to fight, we have fought for the right to vote, for equal rights, to be heard and now we continue to fight. We fight to be successful business women, to be good wives, good mothers, keep the house going all whilst putting on a big smile on social media!!!!

So, I have taken a bit of a step back to take stock and I have decided yes I will continue to run my successful business but I will not feel the pressure to push and prove myself. I will continue to be a good mum, wife and friend but I will do what I can when I can. I am going to try and remain reflective and happy with what I have and not fight for the next big thing. Life is to short to be in fight mode the whole time.

Sometimes we need to take a step back and look at what we have and think about what we want. Why do we want the next big thing, is it for us or is it to prove to others we can!

What are you fighting for?

Is it for you?

How has your summer been?

As we approach the end of August, many of you will be frantically preparing for the back to school chaos, the starting college or university preparations and just getting back to some kind of routine and normality.

I always use September as a fresh start, I don’t know if its my years of working in education or just having had three children but September is always my reset month, I prefer to start new things in September than January. I like a new diary, I set new goals and plan for the next year.

September is like my new year, a new start rather than January and personally I think it’s a better time to start a fresh than January and here’s why:

* January is cold and miserable and our bodies naturally want to hibernate - Not a good time to try and remain motivated and start new things.

* September is the start of autumn and as the trees loose their leaves to start a fresh, I think we do the same as humans. Plus, Autumn is so pretty and a great time to get outside and appreciate nature.

So, why not join me in a fresh start this September, set some new goals, clear out those cupboards you have been meaning to do for ages, have a little reset and start those things you have been meaning to do for ages.
