⚽️ FULL TIME! ⚽️

A positive Wednesday for Duchy Football, with a valiant comeback on the road and a historic first win for our Girls! 💚

🔵 Bristol Rovers 2–2 Duchy 1st XI 💚

After going into half-time 2-0 down, the lads had it all to do in the second half - and produced a fantastic response! 💪

A great through ball from Liam Samways released Zac Newberry, who produced a lovely dinked finish to get us back into the game. Around 10 minutes later, Liam was the provider again, delivering a corner which Oscar Jamison powered home with a brilliant header to make it 2-2! ⚽️

We created more opportunities to find a winner in the final 20 minutes, but it wasn’t to be. Still, a really positive reaction after a difficult first half and plenty to build on!

⭐️ MOTM: Oscar Jamison - a superb performance at the back, topped off with the equaliser!

HISTORY MADE! 🙌💚

Yesterday, our Girls picked up their first ever victory representing the College alongside the Argyle Post-16 programme! 👏

Two of the goals came from our very own Maisie, helping the Girls to a fantastic 3-2 win! ⚽️⚽️

A brilliant performance from the whole team and another huge step forward in their first season together. Plenty of positives to take into next week!

Our 1st XI are on the road as they travel to Bristol to take on Bristol Rovers in their second Preliminary (League Placement) fixture.

Following last week’s brilliant 4-0 victory, the lads will be looking to build on a strong start! 💪

⚽💚 A HUGE MOMENT FOR GIRLS’ FOOTBALL AT DUCHY! 💚⚽

Here are our Duchy College Girls in action yesterday down at Camborne as they took on UCS Colleges in their opening fixture of the season! 📸

This was a huge moment for the programme, with the girls fulfilling their first competitive fixture representing Duchy College alongside the West Cornwall Argyle Post-16 Programme 🙌

Despite the result not going our way, there were plenty of positives to take from the performance, lots to learn from and a great foundation to build on as the season progresses 💪

It’s brilliant to now have competitive Girls’ Football on a Wednesday at Duchy, competing within the AoC Leagues and providing our learners with regular opportunities to train, play and develop ⚽

The women’s and girls’ game continues to grow, and we’re delighted to be playing our part in providing more opportunities for female footballers here at the College 💚

A proud first step for the team - and the first of many fixtures to come!

⚽💚 FULL TIME | DUCHY 1ST XI 4–0 NEWPORT COUNTY 💚⚽

What a way to start the season! 🙌

Our 1st XI produced a fantastic performance today, running out 4–0 winners against Newport County in the first of our four League Placement fixtures.

⚽ Goalscorers:

Riley Milnes

A resounding victory, a clean sheet, four different goalscorers and plenty of positives to take into the weeks ahead! 💪

Next up, we hit the road as the lads make the trip to Bristol Rovers next week 🚌⚽

Unfortunately, our Girls Team fell to defeat at home in Camborne in their first ever fixture. Despite the result, there were plenty of positives to take from the performance and lots to build on as the team continues to develop together 💚

Well done to everyone who represented Duchy today - the 2026/27 season is officially underway! 👏💚

The wait is over… our 2026/27 football season gets underway this week! 🙌

Our 1st XI begin their campaign at home as we welcome Newport County to Duchy College Stoke for a Preliminary (Placement) League Fixture 🏠⚽

Meanwhile, our Girls Team make their competitive start at Camborne, where they’ll take on UCS at home! A huge moment as the girls begin their first season representing Duchy College 💚

There’s no fixture for our 2nd XI this week, with their season getting underway soon.

After plenty of hard work in training, it’s finally time to get back out on the pitch and put it into practice💪

🏋️‍♂️⚽ LEVEL 3 SPORT x MARJON UNIVERSITY 🎓

Yesterday, our Level 3 Sport learners visited Marjon University for a brilliant day of baseline fitness testing and practical coaching!

Learners had the opportunity to experience a wide range of fitness assessments, including:

🏃 Sprint testing
⚡ Agility testing
🫀 Cardiovascular endurance
💥 Jump testing
💪 Grip strength dynamometer testing
📊 Body composition testing
⚽ Futsal coaching session

It was a fantastic opportunity for our learners to experience Marjon’s newly developed facilities, while beginning to develop their understanding of how different components of fitness can be tested, measured and applied to sporting performance.

And this isn't the end of the testing! 👀

We’ll be returning to Marjon towards the end of the academic year to complete a similar testing day, compare the results and hopefully see how much our learners have progressed and improved throughout the year! 📈

A huge thank you to Darrel and the team at Marjon University for welcoming us and putting on such an enjoyable and valuable experience for our learners! 👏
