** Up and coming changes at MVBP**
Our Bike Park Manager Anthony will be leaving us at the end of the summer to move onto a new challenge in the Outdoor Activities Sector. Over the past 6 years Anthony has helped us develop the Bike Park by setting up Kids Clubs, Race Events and the design and delivery of new trails. Anthony will continue to help us with compliance requirements and we will all look forward to seeing him out and about on the trails with his Little one.
This leaves us with an exiting opening and an opportunity for an enthusiastic, hands-on Mountain Bike Park Manager to lead the day-to-day operation of our mountain bike park. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about mountain biking, customer experience, trail management, and leading a motivated team.
We are happy to hear from anyone who’s up for the challenge.
Just send us an email showing interest and a bit about yourself and experience.

🚵 Here’s our second week of the Skills Challenge!
This week we’re focusing on two essential MTB skills that will help improve your balance, control, and confidence on the trail.
🔥 Skill 1: Front Wheel Lift
Start by getting comfortable with a solid track stand.
✅ Compress your forks.
✅ Apply the rear brake.
✅ Lean back and lift the front wheel at the same time.
✅ Keep your arms straight as you lift—avoid pulling the bike towards you with bent elbows. Let your body movement do the work.
Practice until you can consistently lift the front wheel with control.
🔄 Skill 2: Hop Turn (Clock Turn)
This builds on your track stand and front wheel lift.
✅ Start in a stable track stand.
✅ Compress the bike.
✅ Apply both brakes.
✅ Look where you want to go—your head leads your body.
✅ Rotate your hips and shoulders towards your chosen direction as you lift and turn.
This technique is incredibly useful on the trail for avoiding obstacles while climbing or descending, making tight turns, or getting around rocks and roots.
⛑️ Safety First!
Always wear the appropriate safety equipment and practise in a safe, open area.
💪 Challenge of the Week
Once you’ve mastered the basics, see if you can link your hop turns together and complete a full 360° circle!
Post your progress in the comments—we’d love to see how you’re getting on! 👊🚵
☀️ 6 Weeks of Holiday Challenges! 🚴🔥
The holidays are here, and we’ve got something fun for you!
Over the next 6 weeks, our coaches will be sharing a new challenge or technique for you to try and master. Each one is designed to help improve your riding skills.
Remember… it’s not always about the biggest jumps or the fastest laps. Sometimes, getting the basics right can completely transform your riding style, confidence, and speed.
💥 Give each challenge a go!
📸 Don’t forget to tag us – we’d love to see your videos and photos as you take on the challenges and track your progress.
🚲 There’s still space available on our Saturday Kids Coaching sessions, where we help riders build strong foundations, master the basics, and develop the skills that make a real difference on the track.
