I help women over 40 who are struggling to lose weight due to yoyo dieting or hormonal changes.

26/08/2026

There will never be a good time to lose weight.

We can’t wait for the perfect time, it will never come.

We’re always going to have busy lives…

Work commitments, family and friends will pull us in different directions.

When we wait for life to be “perfect” before starting something…

What we’re doing is delaying our progress and results.

We stay stuck.

This is one of the biggest barriers that people put in their way.

Meanwhile, life is moving on.

Often the difference between those who successfully lose weight and those that don’t…

Isn’t because of genetics/metabolism or ability.

It’s because they take imperfect action.

The best time to start is right now.

All you have to do is comment “action” and I’d love to have a chat about how I can help.

Client review from Beth who joined my 6 Week Kickstart Your Weight Loss programme. If you’d like more info dm me “kickstart”.

“Sleep has been a massive change for me, and I never realised how much it effects all aspects of my life.

Another huge change for me as been losing the ‘weekend’ mindset. I no longer starve myself in the week and then overindulge on the weekend. Instead I eat well all week and allow myself the odd ‘treat’ which then stops me craving and over eating on the weekend.

I also have more energy and desire to keep active. I love getting out for a walk and hitting my step goal every day. Its also give me a hour on my own (away for the kids) to enjoy a good audio book or podcast.

Overall my health and wellbeing has change dramatically and I am starting to see my old self again. It’s an amazing programme that has changed my whole outlook on health eating and exercise rather than yo-yo diets and extreme fitness regimes, both of which are unrealistic and in the long term I have ended up gaining the weight back and more.

It is easy to follow and the 6 weeks give me time to make changes gradually, and stick to them. The daily videos and recipes were really helpful but to be honest the most beneficial aspect for me was the little check in messages and constant positivity and encouragement.

Claire also went above and beyond in finding information and links for my children to help with their sleep and eating habits. I really appreciated this, as it wasn’t something she needed to do 😊

When I was struggling Claire was always positive and made me focus on how well I was doing and what I had achieved so far. Claire was never judgemental or made me feel like I wasn’t doing enough.

I am really surprised how easy it was for me to get out of my old habits. I have been on and off diets for the past 3 years, trying to lose the weight I gained after turned 40, but nothing has worked! As this programme is designed for women of my age it is perfect and realistic too. No ‘loose a stone in a month’ attitude but a change of lifestyle”.

𝐈’𝐦 𝐚 𝐧𝐮𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐜𝐨𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐈 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐜𝐚𝐧'𝐭 𝐛𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐨𝐨𝐤

If you're someone who cooks everything from scratch, never eats anything processed and genuinely enjoys it... good for you.

This post probably isn't for you.

𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐟𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐈 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐈'𝐦 𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐲 𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐯𝐚𝐧 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐤𝐞𝐧𝐝.

Sometimes the last thing I want to do is unpack, put everything away and then start cooking.

So realistically, I've got a few options:

Cook from scratch ❌
Get a takeaway 🍕
Grab a ready meal ✅

And honestly, I'm choosing the easy option.

A takeaway is absolutely fine occasionally.

Most of the time though, it's not going to leave me feeling my best.

It's usually more calories, more fat and more salt than I actually need.

It's not cheap either.

And personally, I often feel pretty sluggish afterwards.

𝐒𝐨... 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐥 𝐢𝐭 𝐢𝐬.

Have you seen what's available now?

They've come on massively.

A ready meal isn't something you need to feel guilty about.

It's simply a convenient food choice.

𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐞'𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐈 𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐟𝐨𝐫:
✅ A decent amount of protein
✅ Low in saturated fat

➖ Salt I'm looking for reasonable, not perfect

And before anyone comes for me about the packaging...
It's recycled and recyclable. 😂

There are some genuinely tasty options out there now too.

And they're usually a lot cheaper than getting a takeaway.

𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐈 𝐚𝐝𝐝 𝐚 𝐦𝐢𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐯𝐞𝐠 𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐤.

2 minutes in the microwave.

Done.

More veg.

More fibre.

More nutrients.

And basically zero effort.

𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐢𝐧. 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡 𝐟𝐢𝐛𝐫𝐞. 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲 𝐢𝐧 𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝟏𝟎 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐭𝐞𝐬.

No pots.

No pans.

No faff.

𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐛𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐬 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞.

I'm not trying to eat perfectly.

I'm making the best choice I can with the time, energy and motivation I've got.

Because that's what actually works in real life.

What's your VO₂ max… and what could it tell you about your future health?

There's been a massive push over recent years to get women strength training, and I think this is an amazing message to be pushing.

But I also think it's important that we don't forget about cardiovascular fitness alongside it.

Around 4 in 10 women aren't meeting the recommended levels of physical activity, while cardiovascular disease causes more than a quarter of all deaths in the UK.

And for women, the risk of coronary heart disease also increases after menopause.

So I've written a blog covering exactly why cardiovascular fitness matters after 40, how to improve it, and how you can actually estimate your own VO₂ max at home using the Rockport Walk Test.

Because I really don't think it's about choosing between strength and cardio.
We need both.

What are you currently prioritising: strength, cardio or both?

"How is your coaching different from a dieting club?"

I asked one of my lovely clients, Allison, exactly this question recently.

And I think it's a really important one.

Because my group coaching isn't about giving you a meal plan, telling you what you can't eat and then sending you off to get on with it.

It's about actually learning how to manage your nutrition, training and lifestyle for yourself.

So, what does that look like?

Fortnightly Zoom coaching calls:
Every other week we get together for a live session where I cover different topics around nutrition, mindset and training, so you’re not just following a plan, you’re actually learning along the way.

An app with lots of touch points:
You're not left on your own between calls. You'll have regular check ins, support and accountability through my coaching app.

WhatsApp support:
If something comes up, you can message me. You don't have to wait until the next group call to ask a question or tell me you're struggling.

A whole library of short educational videos:
I've built a library of bite sized videos covering nutrition, mindset, habits, training and more, so you can learn at your own pace and go back to things whenever you need them.

Recipe guides and practical resources:
There are loads of recipes, guides and resources inside the app to make putting everything into practice much easier.

And perhaps most importantly…
You have a coach who actually gets to know you.

I want you to understand why you're doing what you're doing, learn how to make it work around your life and eventually feel confident doing it without constantly needing another “plan”.

That's the difference between being on a diet and being coached.

If you're a busy woman over 40 who is fed up with starting over and wants support that teaches you what to do and why, my next group coaching programme has spaces available.

Send me a message with "Kickstart" and I'll send you the details.

Most women I speak to (especially over 40) are skipping meals, trying to be “good” and usually going far too low with calories before caving in.

We’ve all had it drilled into us, eat less and move more.

In the research I talk about in my latest blog, women actually ate more calories and still improved their body composition.

This doesn’t mean calories suddenly don’t matter.

It’s about realising that eating less and less often just leads to low energy, more cravings, and a body that feels harder to change.

Which is something I see all the time with women in perimenopause who feel like they’re doing everything “right” but still stuck.

If you’ve been stuck in that cycle of dieting harder and seeing fewer results, this might explain why.

I’ve broken the research down (in plain English) and how it actually applies to real life, not just studies.

Link is in the comments section.

And I’d genuinely love to know…

Have you ever tried eating less and found your results actually got worse?

You don’t need to spend hours in the gym. You need to know what you’re doing and WHY you’re doing it. ✨

I mainly share my online nutrition coaching on social media, but I also work part-time as a Personal Trainer and one of my favourite things about coaching is seeing someone go from:

“I’m not really sure what I’m doing…”

…to feeling confident, stronger and empowered to carry on by themselves. 💪

This lovely client, Amy, came to me wanting to feel more confident walking into the strength training room, as well as getting stronger and toning up.

She invested in 4 coaching sessions with me, one session per week, where we worked on her technique, using the equipment confidently and building a structured training plan that she could follow independently.

She now logs her sets, reps and weights each time she trains.

And this is one of my favourite things about strength training…

Because when you look back at what you were lifting a few weeks or months ago and compare it to what you’re lifting now, you can actually SEE your progress. 💪

Amy said:

💬 “I went to Claire for fitness coaching wanting to gain strength and tone up. I really enjoyed it and she’s been really informative and helped me take my fitness journey to the next level. She was always on hand and answered any questions I had.

I’ve gained so much knowledge in the time I had around strength training and using the equipment and techniques. Also the nutrition side, it really has been a game changer for me.

I will definitely come back to Claire further on in my journey and now feel I have the tools to progress. I’ve gotten stronger already and I’m really pleased with my progress.”

And this is exactly what I want my coaching to achieve.

It’s not just about giving you workouts or telling you what to eat.

It’s about helping you understand:

✔️ How to strength train effectively
✔️ How to use gym equipment with confidence
✔️ How to progress your training
✔️ How nutrition can support your goals
✔️ And, most importantly, giving you the knowledge and tools to continue
progressing independently

Because one of the biggest reasons women tell me they get bored with the gym is that they don’t really have a plan.

They go in, do a few exercises they recognise, maybe spend some time on the cardio machines… but there’s no real structure, no clear progression and nothing to look back on to see whether they’re actually getting stronger.

Having a plan changes that.

You know what you’re doing, you know WHY you’re doing it, and you have something to work towards.

If you want to feel stronger, more confident in the gym and finally have a plan that makes sense, send me a message and let’s have a chat.

I’ve made a small upgrade to my Kickstart programme… and I haven’t even shared it yet, so here goes….

My 6 Week Kickstart is now an 8 Week Kickstart, same price, £297.

Why the change?

Because 6 weeks goes by so quickly.

It's enough to help you get started, but most of the women I work with need a bit longer to actually build the habits, confidence and consistency that make it stick.

I don't want you finally finding your rhythm… only for the support to disappear just as it's clicking.

So now you get:

💪 8 weeks of coaching, guidance and accountability, not just a quick sprint
📆 The option to extend for a further 3 months at £89.97, if you want to keep building on that momentum
💷 That's up to 5 months of ongoing support, working out at around £77.40 a month
❤️ Personalised coaching, accountability and nutrition guidance, all the way through

This isn't about being perfect for a few weeks and then being left to figure it out alone.

It's about giving you real time to build something that actually sticks and the option to keep that support going for as long as you need it.

I've got a few spots open for September starters, send me a message if you'd like to know more.

We’ve been conditioned by diet culture to believe that the work is "done" when we reach a certain size or weight.

But that kind of thinking is the dieting mindset and it’s exactly what keeps so many stuck in the cycle of starting over again and again.

When it comes to your health, there’s no "done" or "perfect."

It’s not about reaching a finish line; it’s about creating habits that support you for life.

Some days, you’ll hit every goal.

Other days, it’s about making the best choice you can in the moment, and that’s progress too.

Shifting away from the dieting mindset means focusing on consistency, balance, and showing up for yourself day after day.

Health isn’t about perfection, it’s about what you do most of the time.

Want to move away from this thinking?

Dm me “chat” and I will personally reply to you to see if I can help
