… and the kit that helps keep you safe.
On this day, Jade was especially thankful for her walking poles during the final leg of the Welsh 3000s.
After 50km, 15 peaks, and around 4,000m of ascent, those poles were doing some serious overtime.
Thanks to her poles, she wasn’t quite on her last legs. 😉

Don't be shy boys... we don't bite! The Fairer s*x...
When I first started my outdoor adventure days my majority bookers were women! Although I thought this was great at the time, I have made an effort these past few seasons and have managed to make it 50/50.
Why? I didn't want to have a reputation of Womens only events, (there are some fab companies that already specialise in this) as I wanted to get more blokes involved in an environment where they wouldn't feel like there was ego or competition. Offer a 'safe' space.
Are you a guy that has joined one of my events? Were you the only man?

Censorship warning ‼️ Would it make you want to have a go?!
Always have second hand embarrassment for those around us…

Really enjoying this ‘take it easy on the mountain mileage’ recommendation…
Got to do what the experts say 😂
Can’t go across so must go up!
📍Holyhead Quartzite is a remarkably hard, metamorphosed quartz sandstone naturally found across the northwest of Anglesey, Wales. Locally renowned for its extreme durability, this pale-to-grey stone has significantly shaped the town’s history, most notably acting as the primary building block for the iconic Holyhead Breakwater.

Cloud experts? Is this Mackeral sky?
In my attempt to lesson horizontal moving over mountains this past week… I’ve tried to make up for it in the vertical. (Tweaky Achilles likes steep climbing | dislikes long downhill descents)

A century separates them, but tell me these two don’t look related…
On the right is George Mallory, one of Britain’s most famous mountaineers. In 1924, he disappeared high on Mount Everest with Andrew Irvine during an attempt to reach the summit. To this day, nobody knows for certain whether they made it.
On the left is Kenton Cool, one of Britain’s most accomplished modern climbers and mountain guides, with multiple Everest summits and a reputation for making the impossible look routine.
Mallory helped create the legend of Everest.
Kenton continues to write it.
The resemblance is uncanny. Same face, same mountain obsession, same slightly windswept look that suggests normal life was never really an option.
Coincidence?
Or has Mallory quietly returned to finish what he started? 🤔
