๐Ÿ”ต๐Ÿ”ด๐ŸŸก Buxtonโ€™s 1st Preseason Game

Buxtonโ€™s first preseason game resulted in a closely fought defeat against Amber Valley, with both sides putting in an impressive shift in a competitive encounter.

In a tightly contested opening half, it was Amber Valley who struck first shortly before half time, giving the visitors the lead.

Buxton responded strongly after the break, scoring a try to bring themselves back into the contest. Valley then extended their advantage with a penalty.

Buxton continued to battle and were rewarded when captain J. Stafford powered over with a pick-and-go from the scrum to level the scores at 10โ€“10.

With Buxton pressing hard and looking to take the lead, Amber Valley produced a breakaway try in the closing 10 minutes to move 17โ€“10 ahead.

Buxton continued to push right until the final whistle, but Valley sealed the victory with a third try on the final play of the game.

Message from the New Club Chair

๐Ÿ”ต๐ŸŸก๐Ÿ”ด As we move into the new season, I want to start by dispelling some of the rumours that have been circulating around the club for yearsโ€ฆ ๐Ÿ˜‚

And what better place to start than with our newest Life Member, Mr Clive Walker! ๐Ÿ‘

Today I was camera-ready, determined to finally get photographic evidence that Clive CAN smile! ๐Ÿ“ธ๐Ÿคฃ

Thanks to some of our younger members showing me how to use Snapchat, I think Iโ€™ve done a pretty good job with this one! ๐Ÿ˜œ

So, here it isโ€ฆ proof that Clive Walker does actually smile! ๐Ÿ˜

Great to see another fantastic turnout of supporters at Buxton Rugby Club today! ๐Ÿ‘

Weโ€™re always delighted to see new faces coming through the gates โ€” and even better when they leave saying theyโ€™ve had a great day and theyโ€™ll be back! ๐Ÿ™Œ

Several new players pulled on the Buxton shirt for the first time today and put in a great performance. ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ‰

It was a pre-season friendly against Amber Valley, with an even first half before Amber Valley pulled away in the latter stages of the second half to take the win 10โ€“22.

Results are important, but pre-season is about building, developing and getting everyone ready for the season ahead.

A big thank you to everyone who came along and supported the team today. ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’›โค๏ธ
