We are based just north of Bury in the village of Summerseat and are members of the Greater Manchester Cricket League. We are proud to have many local players in our teams and pride ourselves on developing junior players. We encourage them to progress through the teams within the club to better themselves.

What a proud moment it is to see the Brooksbottom Cricket Club crest up alongside the other top clubs who have lifted the Robert Hinchliffe GMCL Premier League trophy.

For a club like ours, this is more than just a league title. It represents the hard work, dedication and belief of everyone who has played, supported, volunteered and contributed to Brooksbottom Cricket Club over the years.

We’ve truly earned our place amongst the other champions. Promotions in 2017, 2021 and 2025 took us from Division 2 to the top flight. And 2026 surpassed the expectations of everyone 💚

The Brox are on top. 🏆

🏏💚 𝗝𝗨𝗡𝗜𝗢𝗥 𝗣𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗡𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧 𝗔𝗧 𝗕𝗥𝗢𝗫! 💚🏏

Tonight we come together at Brox to celebrate the individual and team successes of our junior cricketers throughout 2026. 🏆👏

It’s been another fantastic year for junior cricket at Brooksbottom, and we’re incredibly proud to have fielded Girls Cricket, U9, U11, U13, U15 and U18 teams this season.

Tonight is not only about celebrating what has been achieved, but also looking ahead to 2027. We’ll be discussing our plans for next season as we continue to develop our junior section, strengthen our teams and provide even more opportunities for young cricketers at Brox. 🌱🏏

There will also be food available tonight for everyone attending, so come along, enjoy some food, celebrate our fantastic juniors and find out what the future holds!

💚 Well done to all our junior players, coaches, volunteers and parents for another brilliant season.

🏏 𝙁𝘼𝙍𝙀𝙒𝙀𝙇𝙇 𝙕𝙀𝘽 𝙌𝙐𝙍𝙀𝙎𝙃𝙄 🏏

Today marks the final match in another fine and hugely entertaining Brox career with Zeb Qureshi playing his final game. Zeb joined us in 2010 and has stayed loyal to the club for 16 years. He's played in the Manchester & District Cricket Association, Ribblesdale League and Greater Manchester Cricket League.

Throughout his career, Zeb has played over 200 games with 3 hundreds and 18 fifties. He has also taken over 300 wickets at an average of only 17.98 with a best of 8/26.

A natural entertainer he has hit a whopping 219 sixes (according to PlayCricket - there will be more not on there!) and hitting 219 boundaries. Particularly enormous sixes at Winton and Edgworth which disappeared out of the ground spring straight to mind 🚀

Local property owners and opposition bowlers will be pleased to see the back of Zeb but we wont. Thankyou for everything you have brought to the club Zeb and playing the game with a smile on your face always.

It's the last fixtures of the season for the 1st XI and 2nd XI on Saturday. The GMCL Champions are on the road with an away game, while the 2nd XI are playing at home. On Sunday the 3rd XI are away.

2️⃣ 2nd XI home to Glodwick.
3️⃣ 3rd XI away to Tottington on Sunday.

🏆 𝗚𝗠𝗖𝗟 𝗖𝗛𝗔𝗠𝗣𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗦 🏆

We are delighted to announce that yesterday's rained off fixture against Royton means that we cannot be caught at the top of the GMCL Premier League table.

The aim for this season was to stay in the Premier League and consolidate after our promotion last year. So to win the league has surpassed the expectations of everyone at the club.

We are hugely proud of what Dom and his team have achieved. The GMCL title is the greatest achievement in our club history and this season is one that will never be forgotten.
