Burntwood F.C. was setup as the new face for the adult section of Burntwood Dragons & Phoenix.

The team is made up of many players who have played for the 'Dragons'. This season we have joined the Premiership of the Tamworth Sunday Football League.

A disappointing start to the season going 2 goals behind early in the first half, the 2nd following a player sin-bin.

We did manage to pull it back level before the break with goals from Josh Wykes & Cam Maxwell, only for us to concede 2 more early into the 2nd half.

A tale of silly mistakes and missed opportunities again!

Then we had to go and watch the Villa 😭

🚨 We're Back 🚨

Another preseason done and a new season commences this Sunday ⚽️💥
And following every other team in the area we thought we might as well give this AI rubbish a go 😄

We're sorry to see 3️⃣ of our long standing squad leave this season, with keeper 🧤 Ryan and midfielder Gaz retiring 👶🏼&⛳️, and Kie off to Australia 🇦🇺 for the year.
We wish all 3 the best🫡 and hope to see them back one day for the odd game 👏🏼🍻

We've managed to get 6️⃣ pre season matches played against a decent selection of teams, helping warm up our existing squad as well as a decent selection of new signings.

We also saw Sporting Directors Ollie Price & Joel Turner stand down after a miserable job scouting, and brought in Jake Degville to take over the roll. Following this we'd like to welcome to the team for 26/27 our new signings:

For the second time in 3 weeks we've let a 2-1 lead slip in the final quarter of an hour.
As expected a tough game against a strong Core team, but after going an early goal behind the lads worked their socks off to take the lead earlier in the second half.

Burntwood had two great chances to extend the lead further but were unfortunate (again) to concede two late goals.

With several key players missing the lads still put on a great performance.

Surprisingly good playing surface considering the week's worth of rain that's fell, just unfortunately it's Redwood and not the biggest of pitches.
A dominant start for Burntwood saw us 2-0 ⚽️⚽️ up within 7 minutes, with the 3rd goal ⚽️ not coming until the 88th minute😳 which tells you more about how Fazeley reacted to the early goals than us tbf.

Happy the back four and keeper kept another clean sheet though 👏🏼🦾

Good luck to Fazeley for the rest of the season - atleast we managed to get the match done 👍🏼
