Turtle Tots is a unique and innovative award winning baby & toddler swimming programme.

Our unique and fun Turtle Tots Swimming lessons are available for you and your child from birth to 4 years. During our progressive lessons you will learn how to swim with your baby in a fun, relaxed, interactive environment using songs and toys, we will also teach your baby key life saving skills while building their water confidence. Each class is a special bonding experience for mums or dads and their babies while also being a fantastic workout as each class has been designed and endorsed by Professor Greg Whyte OBE, Olympian and sport scientist. All teachers are fully qualified with the STA (Swimming Teachers Association)

There are lots of swimming lessons out there, so what makes Turtle Tots a little bit different?

It’s the way we teach.

💚 We follow your child, not a stopwatch
Every little one is different, so our lessons are child-led and adapted to their age, stage and personality. Some jump straight in, some need a little more time - and that’s all absolutely fine.

💦 Water safety is at the heart of what we do
Alongside swimming skills, we introduce important water safety and lifesaving skills in a gentle, age appropriate way.

🐢 Our teachers really understand little swimmers
Our teachers are specially trained to recognise children's cues and communication, helping them feel safe, supported and ready to try new things.

🎵 We make learning fun
Songs, games, toys and plenty of splashing help children learn without it feeling like a lesson.

🤗 It’s about more than swimming
Our classes are a lovely opportunity for you and your little one to spend time together, build trust and confidence, have fun and make memories.

So yes, your little one will learn to swim… but we want them to love being in the water too 💚

Not sure which class is right for your little one? 🐢💦

Here’s a recap of our class names and the ages they’re designed for...

🐢 TURTLE - ages 0–8 months
🪸 SEAHORSE - ages 6–12 months
🐬 DOLPHIN - ages 9–15 months
🐙 OCTOPUS - ages 12–18 months
🦭 SEA LIONS - ages 15–26 months
🐧 PENGUINS - ages 2–3 years
🦑 SQUID - ages 2.5–3.5 years
🌊 STINGRAY - ages 3 and 4 years
🦈 SHARK - ages 4 and 5 years

Our child-led classes are designed to support your little one as they grow in confidence, develop new skills and become more independent in the water, with each level building on what they’ve learned before.

And don’t worry if you’re still a little unsure which class is the right fit – we’re always happy to help! - just send us a message 💚

We know life gets busy and sometimes you might need to miss a lesson 💚

If you’re unable to attend, please remember to log your absence in the app asap before your lesson.

By doing this, you’re freeing up your space for another little turtle to book a make-up class, and it works both ways too! 🐢💦

These classes are free, but they’re subject to availability and your flexibility.

You’ll find all the details about using the app in your welcome pack, but if you’re unsure about anything, just pop us a message - we’re always happy to help 😊

We’re so excited to have added a brand new Turtle class to our timetable at The Diving Centre in East Boldon! 🐢💦

These gentle, nurturing sessions are designed especially for babies, giving you the chance to enjoy some lovely one-to-one time together in the warm, calm environment of the pool.

Our Autumn Term at The Diving Centre in East Boldon is just getting started - we still have a few spaces available! 🐢💦

If you’ve been thinking about starting your little one’s swimming journey with us, now is a great time to join us.

This lovely warm pool is heated to 30-31°C, with underfloor heating around the poolside to keep everyone cosy. There are male and female changing rooms, showers, hairdryers and lockers, plus a viewing area where spectators are very welcome! 🥰

There’s also free parking at the venue and on the surrounding side streets, with East Boldon Metro Station just a short walk away.
