At AB Leather, I offer specialist width alterations across all popular Fairfax & Favor boot models, helping to achieve a neater, more comfortable fit while keeping the original look of your boots.

✂️ WIDTH TAILORING – TAKING IN
Depending on the original construction of the boot, I can tailor by approximately:
• Up to 4cm at the top & calf
• 2–3cm through the lower calf
• 1–2cm around the higher ankle

Perfect for boots that gape at the top or feel too generous through the leg.

↔️ WIDTH INCREASE – ELASTIC GUSSET INPUT
For boots that are too snug, discreet elastic gussets can be added to increase the width and provide additional stretch and comfort, carefully incorporated into the existing design.

Available across all popular Fairfax & Favor boot models.

💷 £120–£130 per pair, depending on the boot model and the amount of adjustment required.

Each pair is individually assessed and altered by hand to achieve the best possible finish.

A few examples of repairs from the AB Leather workbench 🪡

From worn stitching and damaged leather to more involved structural repairs, many well-loved pieces of tack can be repaired rather than replaced.

Each repair is completed by hand, with the aim of keeping as much of the original item as possible whilst restoring its strength and extending its working life.

Small signs of wear can quickly develop into a much bigger repair, so if you’ve noticed loose stitching, cracking, damage or something simply doesn’t look quite right, it’s always worth having it checked sooner rather than later.

A great option for riding boots that are just a little too snug through the calf — without compromising their original look.

These dressage-style, front-zipped boots have had elastic spine gussets professionally added to the rear of each boot, providing extra room and flexibility through the calf whilst keeping the adjustment neat and discreet.
