BSL Link for Communication's return to Gatwick in 2026! We were delighted to be back at Gatwick Airport last Friday, once again delivering Deaf Awareness training to members of staff.
Based in Gatwick's South Terminal, the large and comfortable training room is always a pleasure to teach in as it allows the sessions to be fully interactive, for group work and discussions etc. Our attendees were all very motivated and keen to expand their knowledge of British Sign Language (BSL) and Deaf culture - it was always good when there are plenty of questions to answer from enthusiastic participants!
With activities involving the whole group, the day's training ended with an opportunity to practice learnt vocabulary. The signs taught were all relevant to their individual job roles, enabling them to meet and greet Deaf members of the public arriving at the airport.
Once again we received positive feedback from the session, and hope that some will want to continue to develop their signing skills by taking classes in the future.
We look forward to returning this Friday (18th September) to deliver the session to the next group of 15 staff, and to presenting a further 3 sessions before the end of this year.
