Builth Wells Golf Club

The final competition of this year’s open weekend was the Heart of Wales Trophy, individual Stableford, 95% handicap allowance.

Winning the fabulous Heart of Wales Trophy with a superb 44 points was home club member Lisa Hughes; runner up with 42 points was Ryan Lewis Davies.

Today was the conclusion of the open weekend, what a tremendous and successful golfing weekend we had at Builth Wells Golf Club.

A huge thank you to everyone that contributed to the weekend, from the office staff to the 1st tee starters to the volunteer watering gang and last but not least chief caretaker, Trevor Price.

Day 3 of the 2026 Open Weekend was the Hugh Vaughan Mixed Greensomes.

Entries for the weekend’s competitions had been excellent and the mixed Greensomes was no exception!

Scoring was very good considering the heavy rain showers; well done to everyone that played and congratulations to the prize winners.

Day 2 of the 2026 Open Weekend saw the 4 Ball Better Ball Stableford played.

164 players took part which given the weather was a fantastic turnout, thank you to everyone that played.

Scoring, once again, was very good with a blanket finish in the men’s Jim Downs Cup.

Day 1 of the 2026 Builth Wells Golf Club Open Weekend began with the Team of Four competition for the Cumberland Cup.

A field of 44 teams took part with players from afar afield as Scotland, Newcastle, Liverpool and Birmingham.

The weather held for the majority of the day although there were a couple of heavy showers.

Friday 28th - Team of four
Saturday 29th - 4B/B/B (pairs), men or ladies, NO mixed
Sunday 30th - Mixed Greensomes
Monday 31st - Individual Stableford

The golf course is in fantastic condition, even in these desert like conditions, fantastic food available from the clubhouse with weekend specials on offer - well worth a visit!
