Our 1st XI face another tough test on Saturday as they travel to take on Amigos Kempsey CC. The team know it will take a big performance away from home, but they are ready for the challenge and determined to keep their title push moving forward.

Every run, every wicket and every point matters now. Let’s give the lads plenty of support as they head into a huge final three games! 💪🏏

Our next group of cricketers , many of whom were playing their first cricket match, turned out in a softball game against our visitors from Hay-on-Wye Cricket Club this evening . Excellent performances all round and much learning in the process . At this stage it’s all about taking part and building confidence. And demonstrating the pathway from Dynamos Cricket into competitive cricket.

While this was going on it’s so encouraging to see the numbers turning up for our hard ball sessions . Our visitors were most impressed !!

A hugely enjoyable day's cricket at Builth today. Wales Over 50s Friendly XI 247-5 North Wales Senior Cricket 162 all out. Builth's own Eurig Towns played for North Wales whilst Nathan Howell umpired.

Builth Wells CC 1st XI v Bartestree & Lugwardine CC 2nd XI

Builth Wells 341/5 beat Bartestree & Lugwardine 198/9 by 143 runs

Another huge performance from the Bulls as Builth secured an emphatic 143 run victory and maximum 20 points.

After being put into bat, Builth lost a couple of early wickets before Sujeewa Senarathne hit an excellent 61, with Aled Powell adding a quick 25.

From there, Tim Richards and skipper Dylan McPhee completely took the game away from Bartestree. Tim produced a superb 95 not out from 84 balls, smashing 15 fours and a six, while Macca was devastating at the other end.

The skipper blasted 115 not out from just 57 balls, including 12 fours and 7 sixes, at a strike rate of over 200. Their huge unbeaten partnership powered Builth to 341/5 from 45 overs, with an incredible 122 coming from the final nine.

Bartestree never seriously threatened the target. Nathan Howell led the bowling with 3/32, while Sujeewa completed a fine all round performance with 2/28. Paul Greenway was outstanding with 2/11 from five overs, including three maidens, and Ben Cripps also picked up a wicket.

The visitors finished on 198/9, sealing a dominant 143 run victory for the Bulls.

With the season heading towards the business end, every point matters. Another big performance is needed as the lads look to keep their promotion push firmly on track. 💪🏏

🏏🔥 MATCH REPORT | STONE CC 1ST XI v BUILTH WELLS CC 1ST XI 🔥🏏

💙 BUILTH WELLS WIN BY 6 WICKETS! 💙

A huge win for the 1st XI in the top of the table clash, chasing down 262 in just 29.1 overs against a very strong Stone side.

Winning the toss and opting to field first, Builth's opening bowlers Ben Cripps and Nathan Howell produced a fantastic opening spell of 12 overs that set the tone for the innings.

They were backed up by some excellent fielding, including arguably one of the catches of the season from skipper Dylan "Macca" McPhee. Macca produced a flying one handed catch to remove the dangerous Steve Ralph, a huge moment in the Stone innings.

In extremely dry conditions, with anything beating the field racing towards the boundary, Builth worked hard throughout the 45 overs. The bowlers stuck to their task and the fielders restricted the boundary count as much as possible.

Stone eventually finished on a strong 261/9, but with the batting line up Builth had brought to Stone, there was plenty of confidence that 262 was within reach.

Then came the chase.

Enter Neil Harris and Sam Buckler.

And Nelly was a man on a mission.

From the outset he attacked the Stone bowling, finding all parts of the boundary and producing some sublime strokeplay. Sam played his part perfectly at the other end, giving Nelly the support he needed as the pair immediately put Builth ahead of the required rate.

Nelly raced to his half century and the tempo had well and truly been set.

Sam eventually departed for a very useful 22, but there was no slowing down. Nathan joined Nelly and the pair added another quick burst before Nathan was caught on the boundary for 12.

Then came a little wobble.

Tim Richards was bowled first ball before Nelly's superb innings finally came to an end. Agonisingly, he fell just four runs short of what would have been a thoroughly deserved century.

Suddenly there was a little pressure.

Enter Aled Powell and skipper Macca.

Rather than shutting up shop, the pair kept the tempo going. Aled produced some beautiful strokeplay, while Macca, despite struggling with a knee injury, punished anything loose.

The target quickly came into sight.

Macca smashed a four to bring up his half century, while Aled was left just short of reaching his own as Builth ran out of runs to chase.

Across the two games we've played this season, they have been excellent opposition. Both sides have played hard and competitively on the field, then enjoyed each other's company once the cricket has finished.

After 4 weeks of Cricket Wales Dynamos Cricket summer programme Builth Wells Cricket Club we had the chance to test our skills with a catching , throwing , bowling , batting session .

Topped off by a Dynamos game to put all of those skills together . But not just cricket skills, decision making , problem solving , resilience, excellent communication skills all in evidence… and a bit of fun thrown in . Thanks to all and see you in 2027 🏏

It’s another fun Friday in the sun ☀️ as our intrepid Girls Aloud Cricket Wales Dynamos Cricket completed Week 3 of their summer camp 🏏. Great to hear the positive comments from parents about how running an exclusive girls programme is helping to build confidence. Something to think about for 2027?

Yet again skills developed in catching , fielding , target bowling and batting games to end a lively session. Well done everyone and big thanks to Cath Davies for helping out and demonstrating her bowling prowess!! Arthur Davies
