September always feels like a fresh start a new season, new goals and new energy! 🥋
After the summer break, I’m really excited to return to teaching and welcome everyone back to AOM. I’ve missed the energy, the training and, most importantly, our amazing community.
Let’s come back motivated, support one another and make this our strongest season yet. Whether you’re returning or stepping onto the mats for the first time, this is the perfect moment to begin.
I can’t wait to see everyone back on the mats today!
New season. New energy. Let’s go! 🔥

Anaconda Choke from knee slide …🫡
Their wrestle-up becomes a submission. 🐍
From the knee-slide position, my opponent uses reverse De La Riva to elevate me and starts coming up for the single leg.
Instead of fighting the position, I wrap the head and arm, use their forward pressure against them and counter with the anaconda choke.
Sometimes the submission appears when your opponent believes they are escaping.
Not every back take needs speed. Sometimes it’s just about the right grips, the right angle, and perfect timing.
This sequence shows how a few small grip changes from De La Riva can completely change the position and open a clean path to the back.
The details matter. Slow it down, understand the mechanics, then make it your own.
🥋 Professor Rad | Art of Movement Bristol
Looking back at one of the most memorable moments of my jiu-jitsu journey-rolling with Gui Mendes at AOJ.
Every round was a lesson in precision, timing, and efficiency. Experiences like this continue to shape the way I train and the way I teach at Art of Movement.
Always grateful. Always learning. 🥋🙏

Every submission is just the beginning of the next attack.
🔒 Shoulder lock → front roll.
🔄 Follow and switch to the Kimura grip.
✂️ Attack the scissor choke.
🪤 If they escape, enter the Kimura trap.
🦵 Slide the knee through, secure the hook, and hunt the one-hand choke.
🤝 If they defend, transition to the rear naked choke.
💥 Last line of defence? Belly-down armbar.
Don’t fall in love with one technique. Fall in love with the transitions.
The goal isn’t to force a submission-it’s to stay one step ahead until they run out of escapes.
Flow over force. Position over power.
Hands. Elbows. Knees. Kicks.
Different tools.
Same purpose.
Move well.
Stay sharp.
Keep learning.
The work never stops.

Your body keeps score.
Every hour sitting.
Every missed workout.
Every shortcut.
But it also remembers every stretch, every walk, every training session and every effort to take care of yourself.
This isn’t about becoming an athlete.
It’s about staying capable.
Being able to move well, play, train and enjoy life when others are already slowing down.
