DATE OF ISSUE: 21.08.2026
TITLE: Temporary Closure of Amphitheatre Landing Stage During Weekender Festival
1. Mariners are advised that: The Amphitheatre Landing Stage will be temporarily closed during the Weekender Festival due to safety concerns associated with pedestrian access and congestion in the vicinity of the ferry embarkation and disembarkation steps. The restriction is being implemented to ensure the safety of harbour users and members of the public.
2. LOCATION: The Amphitheatre Landing Stage.
3. DETAILS OF ACTIVITY / RESTRICTION: The Amphitheatre Landing Stage will be closed to all ferry and passenger vessel operations during the period stated below.
• No passenger embarkation or disembarkation is permitted at the Amphitheatre Landing Stage while this notice is in force.
• The closure is necessary due to restricted and potentially unsafe pedestrian access arrangements associated with the Weekender Festival.
• The Prince Street Bridge (PSB) Landing Stage will remain available as the alternative landing location for operators and harbour users.
• Mariners should anticipate increased pedestrian activity in the vicinity of the event area.
• The Harbour Authority will continue to work with future event organisers and stakeholders to develop arrangements that minimise disruption to ferry operations and harbour users wherever reasonably practicable.
4. DURATION This notice will apply:
From: 1600 hrs Friday 21 August 2026 To: 2359 hrs Sunday 23 August 2026
The landing stage is expected to reopen on completion of the event and removal of associated restrictions.
5. ALL MARINERS ARE INSTRUCTED TO:
• Navigate with caution in the vicinity of the event area.
• Use the Prince Street Bridge Landing Stage as the alternative passenger landing facility.
• Maintain a safe speed and appropriate lookout when operating near the waterfront event area.
• Exercise particular care due to increased pedestrian activity adjacent to the harbour.
• Comply with any instructions issued by Bristol Harbour Authority personnel.
