Huge thanks to coach James Sharp - Golf Professional and the whole team at East Brighton Golf Club for making the game more accessible, one step at a time. Holly Crompton works tirelessly to create opportunities like taster sessions for anyone looking for a way into golf, while members such as Deborah Taylor (pictured first) help build a genuinely inclusive environment that’s inspiring more and more ladies to take up the game. Bunker conditions around the club can vary from thick and fluffy to bare and firm — and each needs a different setup. East Brighton pro and top coach shows two simple approaches:
• Thick, fluffy sand: Stand slightly further from the ball, lower your stance, keep weight forward, and use less loft.
• Bare, firm lies: Move closer to the ball, set the toe down a touch, keep weight forward, and use more loft.
