Brighton Inshore Fishing - Catch report 26th August 2026
Amazing fishing first sailing. Good numbers of bait fish in tight, with a newly flooding tide. A great combination. Started well close to the marina, and got better after just one move. 53 fish landed in total. Max kill at 3 fish per angler (sizes were in the 2-3lb range, which is the bulk of the cu...

Brighton Inshore Fishing - Catch report 23rd August 2026
Two sailings today, with a forecast South easterly wind robbing the 3rd. A morning of lots of mackerel around. Six bass landed on the first sailing, with 2 killed for the table. Just one killed from 2 bass landed on the 2nd, again with supporting mackerel. Hard times on tiny tides. Looking like Wedn...

Brighton Inshore Fishing - Catch report 22nd August 2026
A very brief update mostly due to the fact my phone is at the bottom of the sea with all the photos from yesterday. Something immediately obvious to me returning to the marina for the first time since the weather change, was how there were no bass in the marina. Plenty of big mullet, but the bass, o...

Brighton Inshore Fishing - Catch report 17th August 2026
A single sailing today with wind robbing the rest of it. And it looks the next few days as well. I must admit it will be nice to not set an 0400 alarm for a change tomorrow. 0600 should be plenty... Just two rods aboard today for a whole boat charter, and they did very well, with 15 bass being boate...

Brighton Inshore Fishing - Catch report 10th August 2026
Two sailings planned, but on heading out we smacked into a deep southwesterly swell, where the promised NW wind had arrived much later than predicted during the night and the swells were still big. Challenging standing up let alone fishing a shad properly. Back in we headed. Guys were keyed up so I....

Brighton Inshore Fishing - Catch report 8th August 2026
First sailing was one of the better ones for a while. Heading out on top of the tide, with all the ebb ahead, I opted for some deeper water, as there is a profusion of soft brown w**d all through the column in shallower spots. Four rods on board, 12 bass landed, five killed, and one too big to die,....
