💃✨ GISA – BIOGRAPHY
For 17 years, Gisa has found in Forró her greatest passion, and since 2013 she has been sharing this art through teaching, research and creative work. ❤️🪗
🇧🇷 Originally from Minas Gerais, Brazil, she trained at the renowned Pé Descalço school, where she was a student, examiner, teacher and dancer. She went on to build her career as a teacher and researcher at Pira Escola de Forró, as well as a stage dancer with Forró das Bonita, and performed on tours across Brazil alongside fellow teacher Icaro Abreu. 🌎✨
🇵🇹 Now based in Portugal, Gisa has transformed years of experience on the dance floor, through research and on stage into her own teaching methodology: “Um Giro pelo Forró: do Encontro ao Brincar” — A Journey Through Forró: From Connection to Play. 💫
It is a journey rooted in respect for the ancestry and cultural heritage of Forró, accompanying students from their very first steps in the dance all the way to the freedom of truly playing with the music. 🎶💃🕺
Gisa also teaches Forró at Espaço Baião in Lisbon, and her journey has taken her to stages and classrooms throughout Brazil and Europe. 🌍
But for Gisa, Forró can be anywhere. Wherever she goes, Forró is home. 🏡❤️
She brings more than technique — she brings the essence of what she lives: welcome, presence, connection and joy without boundaries. ✨
For Gisa, dance is an endless source of oxytocin — that natural chemistry of happiness that connects us to one another and makes us feel alive! 🥰💃❤️
Her work brings together technique, freedom, musicality and creativity, creating an inclusive Forró where diversity is celebrated and every body has the space to discover their own vocabulary, interpret the music freely and share the joy of dancing. 🪗🔥💛
Come dance. Connect. Feel the music. Be free.
Forró is connection. Forró is joy. Forró is home. ❤️🪗✨
