We often mistake exhaustion for laziness.
In reality, many of us are living in a constant state of stress response without even realising it.
When the nervous system is overloaded, slowing down can feel difficult. Even uncomfortable. That’s not a sign you’re doing something wrong, it’s a sign your body has adapted to being “on” for too long.
Rest is not the opposite of productivity.
Rest is what makes regulation possible.
The Reset Ritual is built around this principle: creating space for your body and mind to move out of survival mode and back into balance through yoga, breath, rest and reconnection.

Hello lovely yogis,
When the weather outside is already hot and heavy, the idea of stepping into a heated room can feel a bit much. You may already feel tired, drained, and like you’ve been sweating all day before you even arrive.
If you are still choosing to come to class in this heat, please know how amazing that is. It takes real commitment to keep showing up for yourself when conditions feel challenging.
Showing up consistently, even when it’s hot outside, helps your body gradually become more efficient at regulating temperature and can make future heatwaves feel much more manageable.
That said, this is definitely a time to soften your approach and listen closely to your body.
A few gentle reminders for heatwave practice:
💧 Hydration is key
In this weather, your body is already working harder than usual just to regulate temperature. Make sure you’re drinking plenty of water throughout the day, not just before class. Electrolytes can also really help with energy and recovery.
🧘♀️ Go easier on yourself
You may notice that your usual practice feels different right now - maybe a bit heavier, slower, or more tiring. That’s completely normal in this kind of heat. There is no need to push or force anything. Take rests when you need them, pause whenever your body asks you to, and let your practice be supportive rather than demanding.
Most importantly, please remember that consistency doesn’t have to mean intensity. Sometimes the most powerful practice is simply showing up and moving gently.
Your body will thank you for being kind to it ❤️
