I know mummy and daddy picked up after you as a kid and never taught you to think for yourself, but you’re an adult now, it’s time you started putting your weights away and learning some responsibility and respect x

What you do for fitness can change throughout the years, it doesn’t mean you have failed at whatever you were doing before.

I will always resistance train where I possibly can, but sometimes other things might take a little of the share.

I was able to have months and months away and pick it up again because I didn’t see it how you see it.

When you don’t go to the gym as much or be mindful of nutrition, you see it as having ā€˜stopped’. Then when you go again, you’ve ā€˜started back up’. These words make the whole thing seem so black and white. Whereas I see it as sometimes it moves back a row in the audience, but it is still there.

You could have been doing other stuff in the background. Maybe you went on a once in the lifetime experience trip. Maybe your health was so bad that every day was a battle. Maybe you really got into tennis and that took your focus!

There’s peaks and troughs in life and your body will change with it. As long as you do your best to stay healthy in whatever form, that’s all that matters.

Of course it’s hard to do all of that when you don’t allow yourself to eat a reasonable amount of calories!

That’s why your body doesn’t function optimally when you are dieting

And that, is why you should spend years upon years in a yo-yo dieting phase, because you can’t give your body everything it wants and needs

The ā€˜because’ doesn’t even make sense lol this was supposed to be a draft to remind myself to film myself on this later but here we are

There’s a lot of deception and curation of content to make people look their best

You need to do you. Maybe you do actually enjoy the 5am wakeup. That’s also ok.

But when we project our opinions on to other people as the one and only way to succeed, then I’ve got a problem

What do you do to stay healthy that isn’t to do with exercise?

To what end???

This should actually worry you tbh

Go to sleep? Please?

Abort abort abort this is not normal

Honestly pls tell the men in the gym trying to grow their biceps that you don’t want your arms to get bulky

And just like that you’ve consumed more calories than if you’d have just had the meals

Choose your hard, basically

Deep down you know it too

Of course I have had that exact same meal before and I do enjoy it, and I also meal prep myself because we haven’t all got time to cook every night.

I just think people need to be more careful when they are directly responsible for somebody else’s diet.

If you are the said general population person and you genuinely enjoy and maintain pretty good health by sticking to the few same foods, you’re still doing great. The onus is on professionals not giving professional advice.

If you want to get involved in nutrition with a client, you need to be prepared to educate them properly, even if they currently only care about losing weight and finding the lowest calorie meals.

Almost half of the UK population have some form of condition or illness. Chances are, many of them will need nutritional considerations, which is where pathophysiology comes in. Giving the same meals to different clients with PMOS, Crohns, Hypothyroidism etc and not considering the different needs? Nopeeee.

A holiday is literally a break from normality and I treat it as such. Just because I am a PT doesn’t mean I gym all holiday and eat super nutritious foods. I loooove food and I will take the opportunity to try anything that takes my fancy.

You are more than your body in a bikini. It is refreshing being on a beach and seeing normal people, not the top 1% of insta who swamp our feeds
