On Sunday 7th September 2025 at 3pm, the government will send a loud emergency alert to every mobile phone in the UK. It’s a test designed to warn people of danger but for women experiencing domestic abuse, it could do the opposite.

Many women living with an abuser keep a hidden second phone – a lifeline to safety, support and escape.

If that phone makes a sound, it could be discovered. And the consequences could be devastating.

Please help Refuge protect survivors. By sharing this video , you could help protect someone who desperately needs that second phone to stay hidden. Your action could be the difference between danger and safety.
