Only 6 days until I run the Cheshire Half Marathon (Sunday 8th September Capesthorne Hall, Macclesfield) for the Alzheimer's Society Running Team, which is a cause dear to my heart as my Father Alan Millward (ex Professional Footballer, Stockport County AFC and Macclesfield Town FC circa 1950) Stockport County Football Club and Macclesfield FC has been impacted significantly by this devastating debilitating disease.

My Father Alan Millward is 91 and has Alzheimers disease and this has sadly robbed him of his personality and his quality of life over the last few years. I know this will affect many others that you know in the future or already know at this point in time. This devastating disease takes no prisoners and sadly changes the person you know and love into a shadow of their former selves, but society’s like the Alzheimer’s Society are working to help beat this disease.

I’m raising money by running the Cheshire half marathon at Capesthorne Hall, Cheshire, at 9.00am, on Sunday 8th September 2024. I am running this event, in aid of the Alzheimer’s Society who are working tirelessly towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives.
