A fantastic performance from the lads today, producing a dominant display from start to finish to secure another impressive victory.
We couldn't have asked for a better start, taking the lead after just 2 minutes. Matty AKA "Ginge" played a superb defence-splitting pass through for Nicky who showed great composure to finish from a tight angle at the near post. Soon after, it was a case of déjà vu as Matty once again picked out Nicky with another perfectly weighted through ball, allowing him to use his pace before calmly slotting the ball through the keeper's legs to make it 2-0.
Bingley pulled one back with a looping effort from around 25 yards that unfortunately beat our keeper, but we responded brilliantly. This time Nicky turned provider, delivering a great ball across the box for Louy to fire home and restore our two-goal advantage. Bingley grabbed another before the break with a well-taken free-kick, sending us into half-time with a 3-2 lead.
The second half followed a similar pattern, but this time we were far more clinical in front of goal. Abel won a penalty after a brilliant driving run into the box, beating several defenders before being brought down. Paul stepped up confidently and sent the goalkeeper the wrong way with an excellent penalty into the bottom corner.
Lionel then produced a moment of quality, beating several players in midfield before clipping a superb pass over the top for Liam, who brilliantly headed over the advancing goalkeeper from around 20 yards. Liam grabbed his second soon after, meeting George's pinpoint cross with his hip to finish from close range.
Debutant Jack impressed throughout the game and deservedly won another penalty after another dangerous run into the box. Nicky stepped up to complete his hat-trick with a composed finish. Liam then completed his own hat-trick, rising to meet another excellent cross from Nicky and volleying home.
Bingley scored a late consolation with an impressive outside-of-the-foot strike from 25 yards. Whether it was intentional or not, it was a superb finish.
Aslo well done to Tomasz another debutant who made a brief cameo in the first 25 minutes before coming off with a slight knee injury, he looked composed on the ball and played out well from the back, Polish power at its finest 💪🏻
Credit to Bingley Athletic, who never stopped trying to play football and battled throughout the match. A special mention also goes to their goalkeeper, who made several excellent saves and kept the scoreline far more respectable than it could have been.
A brilliant all-round team performance from Rose Athletic and a thoroughly deserved three points. 👏🌹

The scoreline tells one story… the game told a completely different one.
Rose were outstanding for large parts of this game and deservedly went into half-time 2–1 up, despite gifting Prospect their goal. On another day we could easily have been 4 or 5 up before the break.
The game completely turned 10 minutes into the second half when debutant Billy Swiatek, who had bagged both of our goals (⚽️ Penalty & ⚽️ Bullet header), was shown a straight red card for something he did not say. Whether something was said or not, nobody around us heard it and we 100% know Billy wasn't the one responsible even the prospect lad themselves told the ref he was wrong but the ref stuck to his guns.
Five minutes later, John was sin-binned for dissent, leaving us down to 9 men. Prospect then equalised after we gifted them another goal before taking the lead with an absolute rocket 🚀 from 30 yards that flew into the top corner. Sometimes you just have to applaud quality.
Even with nine men, Rose never stopped playing football. Debutant Paul Hague was immense, holding the ball up brilliantly and linking play, and was desperately unlucky not to equilise after smashing the post. Prospect added two late goals as we chased the game, but the final score doesn't reflect the performance.
There are so many positives to take. Billy Swiatek, Paul Hague and Tom Haley all made outstanding debuts, with Tom running the midfield all game, winning battles and picking out countless quality passes. If we'd been more clinical in the first half, this game would have been over before the break.
Pre-season is all about progress, and this squad is growing stronger every week. The football we're playing is exciting, the team spirit is fantastic, and we're confident the wins will soon be back.

It wasn't the result we wanted last night, but there are plenty of positives to take from the performance.

Much like Sunday's game, we were once again hit hard by injuries, work commitments, and a couple of late withdrawals, leaving us with a heavily depleted squad. Midweek fixtures are never easy for us, but despite the challenges, every single player who stepped onto the pitch gave absolutely everything for the badge.

The commitment, determination, and team spirit on display from the first whistle to the last was outstanding. The lads battled for each other throughout and never stopped working, and that's something everyone involved with the club can be proud of. Unfortunately, with none of our regular strikers available, we lacked that cutting edge in front of goal, and that ultimately proved to be the difference.

A huge welcome to Brad, who made his debut for Rose Athletic. He was outstanding in midfield, looked composed throughout, and has already shown he'll be a fantastic addition to the squad.

We'll dust ourselves down, learn from this one, and turn our full focus to Sunday's game. We'll stick together, keep working hard, and do everything we can to get back to winning ways. 💛🖤
